Did President Trump Reveal Classified Information to the Russians?

Recommended Posts

President Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russian foreign minister and ambassador in a White House meeting last week, according to current and former U.S. officials, who said Trump’s disclosures jeopardized a critical source of intelligence on the Islamic State. The information the president relayed had been provided by a U.S. partner through an intelligence-sharing arrangement considered so sensitive that details have been withheld from allies and tightly restricted even within the U.S. government, officials said. The partner had not given the United States permission to share the material with Russia, and officials said Trump’s decision to do so endangers cooperation from an ally that has access to the inner workings of the Islamic State. After Trump’s meeting, senior White House officials took steps to contain the damage, placing calls to the CIA and the National Security Agency.“This is code-word information,” said a U.S. official familiar with the matter, using terminology that refers to one of the highest classification levels used by American spy agencies. Trump “revealed more information to the Russian ambassador than we have shared with our own allies.”

On one hand this scares me and I believe that the left will scream this is evidence of President Trump allegedly colluding with the Russians but on the other hand I would assume we share all kinds of classified information with the Russians on a regular basis.

The other issue we have is this is yet another leak at the highest levels of our Government.

Go to war with the intel community and pay the price with leaks. Human nature.

While we may occasionally share info with Russia that doesn't excuse sharing all info.

Leaks are secondary to the circus that has taken over 1600.

McMaster said no sources or methods were revealed.

Problem is that was never mentioned in the report. It said they reveled information. Big difference.

The info itself can easily lead to who has the info which can put those folks in peril.

Unlike the SOS, POTUS can declassify information at will. Concerning that the topic of the meeting was ISIS, a concern for both parties, I would be shocked if previously classified information was not shared between between BOTH parties. Where was the outrage when HRC put classified information into the public domain? The fact that Comey choose not to prosecute is a big reason he is out of a job.

He burned an ally. He gave enough info that intelligence from other countries will be able to figure out who has the info. That person may be in jeopardy.

Has the partner came out upset about this? I have no idea.

I give NO CREDIBILITY to UNNAMED sources. Especially from the WASH POST or NYT. They are propaganda tools of the left.

Not a big surprise that the more conservative-leaning media hasn't jumped on this.
