England's Revolution to the Restoration is the first thing that comes to mind for me especially since it ended up almost right back where it started. Although in that time there was religious tension between Anglicans, Presbyterians, Catholics, and Puritans; attempts at true democracy, religious liberty, abolition of property, Christian communism (long before Marx), among other things.

 

Also I just realized that the original post I quoted said since WWII. I need to work on my reading comprehension. :walk:

The years I mentioned in my post had so much turmoil. Assassinations of powerful people, the hippy movement, the explosion of the drug culture, radical changes in music, Manson murders, the moon landings, Watergate and it's fallout, oil embargo, Vietnam War protest and marches, civil rights movement, city riots.....I could go on. Maybe it just felt bigger to me because it was during my elementary, high school, and college days, but at times the strife seemed overwhelming. But one thing I'm sure of is that 10-12 year period led to a huge cultural change in our nation. You can actually see it in the old TV reruns during that time. Everything was so innocent in the early sitcoms pre-1965, but as we got into the late '60's and early '70's that changed. We went from Andy Griffith to Archie Bunker, lol.

I was basing my response on what swamprat mentioned in his post, which were the '60's, '70's and 80's. He wondered what it would have been like if there had been social media like there is today and more than 3 TV networks.

I was a baby during the 60s so I dont remember that. Remember some of the early 70s but mostly remember a new species I discovered( Girls). 80s were a cake.
