Yep. One guys opinion.

I would like to hear from everyone the legitimate reasons why Comey should have been fired.

 

 

 

Guru says he overstepped his authority by making decisions the Justice Department should have made. My question on that one is does the FBI always present their evidence to the Justice Department/prosecutors or does the FBI sometimes, perhaps often, make decisions about whether evidence merits being presented? (Not a rhetorical question. I am asking how investigations are typically handled.)

 

Comey definitely usurped his authority in July. Prosecutors decide whether or not to bring charges, not law enforcement, which is what the FBI is.

Thanks for answering for me but I got it. What would it take for you to get outraged about anything Obama did? Please don't act like you're not every bit as biased in the opposite direction as you claim I am.

 

I've claimed my bias towards Obama since day one multiple times. I've always owned my Obama bias.

 

Obama being a traitor to the US would have me outraged.

 

Obama taking money out of my pocket would have me outraged.

 

Obama criminalizing marijuana would have me outraged.

 

Obama being anti-union and pro right to work would have me outraged.

 

Obama not being sympathetic to the plight of the black man in America while being one would have me outraged.

 

 

That's all I have off the top of my head. I'm sure there is plenty more he can do to get me outraged. Fortunately for him he hasn't done anything in my eyes to cause me to be outraged.

 

The money he gave to Iran at the end of his term has me concerned but without knowing the intent behind it all it is hard for me to get outraged. The US has been arming and working with terrorists for decades. It's a complicated task and I understand that.

I agree that this is one thing that looks like Comey could have been fired for. I am wondering if the FBI always turns over all its evidence or if there are times when they say it is clear to them there is no crime and no need to turn the evidence over.

Agreed but they're lying when they NOW use it as justification.

He wants the investigation to continue and reach whatever it's conclusion is. We all want it to reach it's end sooner than later. That is better for the country.

While I would never say I know what you really think I will admit I struggle to think you believe that is what he wants and that is what he meant.

Key issues that warrant response (and haven't been addressed in my review of the past 16 pages):

 

Who believes Huckabee's daughter that she has been contacted by "countless" FBI agents expressing relief that Comey was dismissed?

 

Who believes Acting FBI Director McCabe's sworn testimony that Comey did / still does command widespread respect within the FBI?

 

One of the above is lying.

Who is concerned by the administration's changing story about why Comey was fired and when that decision was made. Prior to the Trump interview with Lester Holt, Spicer, Sanders & even Pence made clear statements that Trump acted upon the recommendation of DAG and fired Comey. When that story began to fall apart (at least in part due to sourced reporting that DAG was not happy about being the scapegoat & sourced reporting showing Trump asked for the recommendation), Trump went 180 degrees and told Holt he had been planning to fire Comey for a long time.

 

While we all should agree that Trump had the RIGHT to fire Comey, we are discussing the wisdom of doing so. Also, although Trump is not obligated to provide a reason for firing Comey, can we all agree that if he DOES give a reason, the reason given should be the truth and not a lie?

 

My guess is Comey is smart enough to have documented a bunch of this. Now that he has been fired, I'm guessing he will publicly take as high a road as he can while still telling the truth (particularly when under oath). However, behind the scenes I am betting he will be providing very juicy information & documentation to reporters anxious to chop Trump down. The "loyalty demand dinner" is just the 1st of many such leaks that will threaten whatever credibility Trump may still have. Making an enemy of a former FBI Director when the MSM is frothing at the mouth to bring you down may not have been the wisest decision.

Yes. I know and understand that. That's not going to stop me from posting what I feel like posting just like my bias towards Obama never stopped you from posting what you felt like posting. I wouldn't expect it to for either of us.

The more I think about it the more I favor a special prosecutor. Let's get it all out in the open, including what led up to his firing specifically his actions in the Clinton e-mail investigation. If criminality is found anyplace prosecute it. I'm sure the outraged Dems will agree to that.
