ESPN has changed so much since I was younger. I remember when SC was really SC, I would wake up in the mornings before school and watch the reruns all morning. I loved it.

I'm sorry I just can't take the two of them together.

I find it hilarious that people blame politics or "ultra left leaning" views as the decline of ESPN. It's their terrible TV contracts and the rise of digital technology that has hurt them more than anything else. Look around. People are cutting the cord to cable/satellite TV every single day. Netflix, Hulu, Apple TV, PS Vue, Amazon Firesticks, etc are taking over television. That's not including the ability to pick up your smartphone and find out any and all information you want to find out about any sport in a matter of seconds. Why would anyone tune in to ESPN and wait for them to give you highlights of the OKC/HOU game when you can go to twitter or your NBA.com app and get all the highlights you need while you are on the toilet? There isn't a need for ESPN except for when they are broadcasting games. I don't see FS1 raking in the money and they have the exact same format as ESPN and they don't have any real sporting events to broadcast. Take away Monday Night Football, College Football, College Basketball and the NBA and there simply isn't a need for anything else on ESPN and I love ESPN. Years ago when they paid all this crazy money for TV contracts economists predicted it would be the downfall of ESPN. How much are they paying to broadcast their crappy Monday Night Football games? How much have they paid to broadcast college football and basketball? That's the downfall of ESPN. Not their "ultra left leaning" politics. :lol2: :lol2:

I'll also add that for as much as people say they can't stand Lavar Ball, the day he was on the Bristol campus and made his rounds on the ESPN shows was some of the highest ratings ESPN has had all year.

I agree to an extent. I think some people were turned off the the daytime programming due to the political agenda it seemed they were pushing. Obviously this coincides with people cord cutting but I don't think you can discount people who simply found something else to watch.

I guess I don't watch the right daytime shows because I can't think of one instance of them talking politics for any length of time that I've watched.

The numbers in our country don't add up to people who quit watching ESPN for political reasons as being the cause of the downfall of ESPN.
