November 8, 20178 yr I don't know about the rest but that Erlanger one is nasty.Most are! Somerset and Russell Springs store have always been clean and well maintained...but I've not been in either in a year or so. I told someone not long ago that the Somerset Kmart has always been a top performer for the company. That unfortunately that would mean it would stay open until the last days of Kmart/Sears and the employees would get next to no notice that it was closing. They will just show up one day and it will be locked would be my guess. When Sears sold off the Craftsman Brand I knew their days were numbered, getting rid of the best thing they had going for them was kind of a last grasp for cash to remain operational.
November 8, 20178 yr Only slightly worse than almost every Walmart I have ever been in. You've been to bad Walmart's then. FWIW the NKY/Cincy Walmart's for years were the worst in KY.

November 8, 20178 yr Walmart has been slow to adapt to that business more so than being stubborn, they have moved VERY slowly in e-commerce for over a decade. Walmart did locate their e-commerce division in Silicon Valley and have been working to catch up tech wise for a couple of years now. Talking to friends that are still there, e-commerce is a huge focus for them...but there is also an emphasis on not dropping the ball at the stores. Walmart's shear number of locations nation wide is really a huge advantage that they need to use to their advantage. Walmart's in house logistics are second to none, they just have to figure out how to best use their own distribution system to reach customers faster and cheaper than their competition. I agree that Amazon has captured the young demographic and it is something that Walmart will have to figure out. No argument from me on Walmart infrastructure even with their slow move to ecommerce it keeps them in a position of relevancy. I've just always thought they need some sort of rebranding campaign for their ecommerce business to reach to young shoppers as a tech company.

Craftsman items no longer being made in USA did it for me a while ago.

They actually have bought several smaller startups that have some niche markets that most people would never associate with Walmart. I've heard a major rebranding may be coming but I'd have thought if it was coming soon it would have rolled out already for this year, it may happen after the first of the year.

The China Town store next door, in front of the Putt-Putt; that was nasty. Clean stores rule.

That will leave 7 K-Marts in Kentucky; Erlanger, Grayson, Lexington, Owensboro, Paducah, Russell Springs and Somerset. Oh crap, that affect me big time, I'm always in Kmart here in Frankfort and have a friend who is a manager there.

A year ago we had two K-Marts but they have both closed.
November 8, 20178 yr Growing up, Sears had some brands that I always thought were iconic...Craftsman tools, Kenmore appliances, Weatherbeater paint, Die Hard batteries. Sadly I don't think anyone necessarily puts them at the top of the list anymore like they used to.
