He became belligerent when he did not follow instructions given. I'm not saying the airlines don't have to much power they do. But a ticket does not guarantee a seat. They can remove/ deny boarding people for numerous reason, intoxication, pregnancy, etc.

The media has been talking about the dark past of the doctor....Now it's looking like they were talking about the wrong doctor and attributing past crimes of another man to this guy. That's absolutely grounds for a huge payday if true.

Nothing. Just like with this doctor. But apparently the media has made enough up about him.

I'm trying to figure out why United felt their employees needed those seats more than paying customers....I get they said that crew needed to get to Louisville for a flight. Who's fault is it that they were in that situation to begin with? United.

 

So basically United screwed up and decided to place the blame on innocent paying customers....

Which goes to waste something like 90% of the time if I'm not mistaken, because the vast majority of people can't fly that often or go on trips that often.

 

If airlines weren't so damn cheap people would actually take them up on their offers. Make it $1000 cash, all lodging and meal expenses incurred while waiting for the next flight and 1st class seats on the next flight out and I guarantee they'd have more than the needed people fighting over who gets bumped.

 

I've flown for pleasure once as an adult. No way I'm taking vouchers for the airline, which probably come with a bunch of redtape. Only way I'd give up my seat is for a promise to be on the next available flight and straight cash homey.

I fly a ton and have enough frequent flier miles for my wife and I to fly to Jamaica for 15 bucks apiece and that $800 voucher wouldn't have been enough for me to give up my seat. $800 cash and it's a whole new ballgame.

 

Man I love Jamaica. Wish we were going back, but next trip is Antigua.

Mental state people. He was beat, embarrassed, emasculated, and drug off the plane. Not to mention he is now an unwilling a public figure with all his dark past being revealed.

 

It is one of the worst abuses of authority I have ever seen in America.

There was never any doubt in my mind that the authorities told him numerous times what they would do if he failed to comply.

 

In short he is saying, I would rather go to jail than volunteer for this kind of abuse.

So because someone doesn't comply with an extremely unfair and arbitrary FAA guideline he deserves to be splashed all over the media for alleged past transgressions?

The point is he didn't volunteer and the authorities used overwhelming force to remove him because United Airlines is CHEAP and apparently the current FAA rules allow Airlines to do whatever they want, to whoever they want, whenever they want.
