April 4, 20179 yr I purposely didn't watch a single minute of the game and after waking up this morning and hearing once again the officials had a huge influence on the outcome again, glad I didn't watch it. UNC had the stars and the refs on their side this year which makes this years tournament one to forget.
April 4, 20179 yr I know that everyone has been blowing the officials up about letting the players get a flow, but how are the refs supposed to allow teams to push, pull, and hang on each other the whole game long. I still believe that if refs would call like this for about a month, it would clean the game up and then we could see the real skill level of the players! KEEP CALLING FOULS until they stop playing this way and coaches quit coaching this way!! Also, my prediction on the game NC 73-69 was pretty darn close. What gets me is that the refs did call it close at the beginning of the season. By NCAA Tourney time it was back to a lot of the Big East style. Pushing the level of physicality as far as it can be.

Why would they be so? (if true) The NCAA did not want UNC to win it because it was like watching the old Raiders win it in 1980's and Pete Rozelle detested Al Davis. The NCAA is investigating the National Champs. Do you think they want them to win?
April 4, 20179 yr I was talking about the booing that was going on while the NCAA President spoke and then Roy Williams UNC fans don't like Emerit. Other fans don't like UNC. Seems logical to get boos for both.
April 4, 20179 yr Interesting listening to Pitino this morning on Mike & Mike. Reflecting back to when Commissioner Stern was spitballing with a bunch of NBA guys about how to increase scoring at a time when only one NBA team was averaging a hundred. After a couple of hours, Chuck Daly said, "Call more fouls". Games will open up because guys will eventually stop mauling each other. It will take a little while to adjust. A lot easier to adjust when in the NBA guys are around 6,8 10 years and so on. When in college basketball you have so many players that only around a few years at most. That is the problem with this thinking. Rookies who join the league learn to adjust because everyone else already had learned it and been doing it for years and play 80 games a year. Players don't reach 80 games in college until their Junior year. It won't clean up the college game because players don't have the time to adjust like in the NBA. All we will keep getting is ugly free throw shooting contest. Plus there is so many refs in college compared to the NBA. So to much inconsistency in refs. Imo I loved the game as it was before they started this freedom of movement stuff. If they want to increase scoring. Then just don't have final fours or tournament games in domes, where it's harder to shoot.
April 4, 20179 yr I'll go ahead & get this out of the way: the NCAA needs to improve the flow of the game. There are too many delays. Hell, you just know they won't accomplish this because I honestly believe TV won't allow it. Got to get as many commercials in as possible.
April 4, 20179 yr I don't know how you miss Meeks being out of bounds on the jumpball call at the end. Official didn't even think to review it? Dude was easily out of bounds and it wasn't close. But congrats to Roy and UNC. I saw the same thing you did. The clock was at 49.1 seconds. Could have made a difference, but who knows. Anybody got a still picture of this?
