April 3, 20179 yr Mrs. Plantmanky is having some pretty extensive ENT surgery today. She has been dreading it for months but hopefully this helps her in the long run. Part of this is her tonsils out which as an adult sucks. Anybody got any helpful tips or things for her to eat as it is healing? I get to be her nurse all week.
April 3, 20179 yr Good luck to her. My step daughter had hers removed at 20 and it was rough for a few days. The good news is she has had no problems since with sinuses, sore throats, etc and she is 34. She drank liquids and gutted through it. Not sure you can make it easy, so be nice.
April 3, 20179 yr Prayer for the Mrs. Tell her liquids then ice cream, yogurt, malts until she can handle soft foods.
April 3, 20179 yr Prayers! I had my tonsils out when I was 5. Ice cream is what I remember. It sucks when you're an adult, but my son was 2 when he had his out, and that REALLY sucked! The beat time, in my opinion would be when you're 5, when going to the hospital is a grand adventure and getting to eat unlimited amounts of ice cream is a thing to be excited about.
April 3, 20179 yr Prayers to you and MrsP. I had mine out as an adult. Popcycles was what I liked. Jello is good if she likes jello. Chicken broth/chicken noodle soup and things that slide down with little chewing or effort.
April 3, 20179 yr Author Headed home in about half an hour or so. Hardto believe the stuff they do as outpatient these days.
