North Carolina 75 Kentucky 73

Let's forget Carolina scored 12 unanswered down the stretch after trailing by 5... apparently the officials allowed that to happen too

Long thread so I may have posted this earlier. I commented on this the last two months of the year. UK was not good at closing out games with the lead. They struggled putting teams away when they had big leads and they struggled in tight games with the lead. That is what came back to haunt them and led to this loss more than anything else. Almost every other Coach Cal UK team has been fantastic at closing out games and this team just never got there.

It was another great UK basketball season and this may have been coach Cal's best coaching job ever.

I know that this is an opinion shared by very few, but I am glad to see Bam leaving. Our beast has a four cylinder engine that stands idleing at the elbow watching teammates shots rebounded by opponents. A warrior doesn't play 34 minutes and get a weak two fouls while the opponents are continually ripping rebound after rebound off the glass. Are his arms short and/or hands small? Just cannot imagine being that tall and strong and continually getting dunks blocked because he takes so long to slam the ball through with his two hand wind-up delivery. Hands of stone and fundamentally weak with continually putting the ball on the floor. Seems like he mentally engaged about 10 minutes in this game. IMO

The opinion is definitely shared by me. I felt this way all year. He has no post moves at all.

While I'll agree, Carolina also had Pinson, Hicks and Berry I believe with 2 fouls apiece

Pinson had 2 fouls at the half, but Berry and Hicks only had 1 each.

There were 3 from Carolina and 4 from U.K. with 2... either way, it was bad

Higgins one of 9 officials working this weekend, wonder why? Apparently bosses don't listen to popular BIASED opinions of unknowlegable general public.

North Carolina gave him the highest grade possible in his last game, so since they are the team moving on, the NCAA must have listened to their input. North Carolina seems to have a lot of influence with the NCAA as well.:lol2:

Pretty embarrassing article on USA Today website of the ugly posts on Higgins business Facebook ratings by Ky fans. The rantings were beyond ugly and out of line. I might have not embraced his calls, but IMO the ethical line has been crossed by trashing a guys business ratings because you don't agree with his calls.

NC doesn't grade but nice sarcastic comment.

I think part of the issue that Kentucky fans had with the officiating during the tournament is the games were called much differently than the way the SEC was officiated this season. We were conditioned to referees calling any physical contact a foul. Some SEC games were absolutely ridiculous. We were told that freedom of movement was a point of emphasis. That's fine the game needs to be cleaned up.

The problem is you get into tournament play and the fouls you have seen called all season suddenly are not being called. Consistency from conference to tournament play was nonexistent.

Kentucky had every chance to beat North Carolina and couldn't get it done. To blame the referees for the loss is shortsighted. But to ignore the fact that the tournament was called differently than the regular season is also a mistake.

Shows peoples true character and why their opinion on officiating is null and void...and agree ethical lines crossed over a game...it's not war people it's a freaking game!

That type of behavior is totally out of line, no wonder some of our fan base has such a negative reputation. It's fine to boo officials while they are in the arena and even to gripe about them on line, but once they leave the arena and return to their real life, they should not be bothered.

Window into how some Kentucky fans react. I say most bc as a fan I was up off the couch after Monk hit his 3 to a "freakin" walk on nailing an 18 footer for the game winner. Seriously!! Lol,but the vitriol and unabashed hate toward an individual and his business is so sad and pathetic..

Absolutely ignorant. I can't think of another word for it without violating our terms of service.
