March 12, 20179 yr Seems a few on here believe UK deserves either the same or a higher seed than Duke in tonight's draw. If you believe that's the case, I'd like to hear your argument.
March 12, 20179 yr They are going to both get 2 seeds so the debate is pointless. But one stat I don't think that has been mentioned is UK has 5 losses and 4 have come against RPI top 15. So the lack of really bad losses helps their case.
March 12, 20179 yr Seems a few on here believe UK deserves either the same or a higher seed than Duke in tonight's draw. If you believe that's the case, I'd like to hear your argument. Simple. There has only been 1 team with 0 losses since the NCAA Comittee released their top 16 teams on Feb 11th. That team is UK. Duke on the other hand has lost 3 times since then. If that's not enough for you then maybe this will help. Duke was ranked in both polls as 16th or 17th in the nation this past week (AP and Coaches polls) while U.K. Was in the top 10 in both. UK won all their games since then so how should a team with 8 losses leapfrog a team ranked higher than them by 8 spots?

Duke has played six (5-1).

I get the argument for Duke and the amount of quality wins. But you can't ignore the losses either. If I were a Duke fan I would not want the 1 seed because you probably get UK as your 2 seed.

March 12, 20179 yr I agree both will be a #2, so there is nothing really to discuss. I think Duke's run probably knocked the Cards out of a #2 to a #3, that's the better question...should Duke be seeded ahead of Louisville? KENPOM Duke 11 Cards 6 BPI Duke 6 Cards 5 RPI Duke 6 Cards 7

March 12, 20179 yr I think Both end up with a 2 Duke is playing pretty darn good right now. UK looked better today and have done enough to be a 2 as well.

March 12, 20179 yr I explained my thoughts in the Duke/ND thread, the Blue Devils really only have a couple of losses. No way Duke should not get a 1 seed, it would be damn near criminal if the NCAA does not reward them for playing well in their last four games. I can't justify UK getting a 1 seed over Duke or UNC even though they have less losses and beat UNC early in the season. None of that matters because the SEC is so bad that NC State would have won the SEC if they weren't getting beat up on by the ACC teams.

The committee is going to look at the entire body of work and not that Duke beat them late in the season. UK is a prime example the last few years that the committee will ignore a late season head to head match up in seeding.
