SEC Quarterfinals

Final. Had some lulls today, but good games from Hawkins, Fox, Briscoe and Bam. Also Wills never shot the ball real well but his defense and rebounding was good.

Cats were lead by Briscoe and Fox with 20 each and Bam has 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Good win, especially with Monk playing how he did & the way they contained Frazier.

Monk is no show, poor FT shooting, Bam double/double, Fox back in groove, Briscoe plays well, Willis and Hawkins show leadership, Cats win. Ill take it

Monk was awful, lose tomorrow if he repeates that performance, FT's yikes. Everyone else did some good things. Wenyen is done, confidence is not very good. Hard to win with 5-6 guess we will have to

The emergence of The Hawk has elevated the perimeter defense to a whole different level! This team has really improved on the defensive end at every position!

Did Captain "Winky" Wenyan contribute any today? I didn't get to see the game.

Captain "Winky" was a little soft today.

The U.K. defense was key in this one. I loved the way that they came out from the opening tip and took control. I didn't think and more important, I don't believe that UGA ever thought that they had a chance in this one.

Briscoe with 20 pts., 8 reb ....he really stepped up and took over. Especially with Monk having such a bad game, Fox playing steady with Briscoe and going inside to Bam was impressive. Defense, especially w/ the job they did on Frasier won this one.

It's tournament time ....Survive and Advance.

No he did not

You do have to be slightly concerned with Monk's performance the last two games. He was a hero against Florida and Vandy but suddenly turned in his two worst performances of the year BY FAR.

It is a bit reassuring when this team can win without hardly anything from Monk. Shows that they're becoming a team.

I am not super concerned about Monk's shooting, he is still positive, isn't forcing shots, still plays defense, making a few assists, basically teams are really working on covering him and making his shots difficult and it is opening up others. His confidence doesn't seem to shake, if either A&M or Ga had backed off of him he would have started scoring.

It was noted on twitter that the team didn't have shoot arounds against A&M or today, coincidentally the only two games Monk hasn't gotten double digits.

To me the bottom line is Monk isn't concerned, his teammates and Cal aren't either so don't see why I should be.

And can people get off Briscoe's back already, kid plays hard.
