Thomas vs Clark, Who is the best running back?

Featured Replies

Anybody remember Josh Gross? Now I know his numbers don't sound as good as Clark's but I played against them both and Gross seemed like the better running back to me. I haven't seen Thomas play, but I'd take Gross over Clark.

I've come to the conclusion that Russell folks are happy with Clark, and that Ashland folks are tickled to death that Thomas has finally started fulfilling his potential, and that everyone else is pretty much indifferent.

Best of luck to both kids!!!

It basically comes down to a spitting contest between Ashland fans and Russell fans. Both are great players with good heads on their shoulders and will do well. As far as upside I truely believe it goes to Clark because of his versatility. Stronger, better reiciever, better hitter, better blocker, better balance and almost as fast.

Gross still holds most of the rushing and TD records at Russell. Gross was faster and had the best balance and acceleration that I have seen in any RB to come out of this area bar none. The only drawback with Gross was his height. Clark and Thomas are both 6' and that makes a big difference to recruiters.

Yeah me too....although Gross's stats for his 4 years at Russell are way better than Kasey's.

SOrry I meant beech!

Yeah that's what Iam saying

Welcome to BGP:ylsuper:

who knows I would love to have either one on my team if I was coaching

Josh was the feature back for Russell for all of his 4 years. Kasey has been the feature for only 2 years. Kasey gained 1000 yards while being in the backfield with Josh his senior year and that's with Josh starting every game but one, against Greenup County.

This is stupid. Both of these kids are great backs, yes I said great ScooterBob, with alot of potential for both of them. Any team would be lucky to have either one of the guys. They both compliment each other well and would form one heck of a backfield. Hey, maybe Russell and Ashland could join athletic programs like Mercer and play in 3A next year. The KHSAA wouldn't have a problem with it. :D    :sssh: :sssh: :ylsuper: JK, I'm just kidding. I couldn't resist.

Actually, Gross did not become the feature back in Russell's backfield until late into his Freshman season. He only rushed for 500+ yards this season. He was an unproven talent who got a few carries here and there until he exploded late.

...This reminds me of Beach and West arguement of who is better, but all I can say is look at the record books.

While your checking out the "record books", take a look at team rosters for the current season. Michael West is playing for Campbellsville University...Arliss Beach is in the NFL.

Fellas, please stick to the question of this thread.

If you want to re-hash old arguments about players that have been gone for 4 and 5 years, please do it in a different thread.

Thanks.

Is this even argueable?.. Clark hands down is the better back! Thomas has done nothing and all this hype about him being a great back is non sense, until he proves himself! This reminds me of Beach and West arguement of who is better, but all I can say is look at the record books.

(BeachvsWest)

 All I can say about that one is look at the check books!!!
