Disney airs first ever gay kiss/scene in cartoon

Co-worker said it's ironic that people are protesting and so bent out of shape over a gay character in this movie, but they are totally cool with the beastality of it lol

Do you believe people choose to be gay or do you believe they are born gay?

Yes. Some choose and some are chosen.

Yes. Some choose and some are chosen.

Let's talk rule only and not exceptions to the rule.

According to some Christians it's a choice and a sin, so I'm assuming that by that perspective though they might like to, they're only refraining from fooling around with the same sex because it's a sin, right?

Probably has nothing to do with them just not being the least bit attracted to their same sex?

Pretty easy to avoid same sex activity when you're not at all attracted to the same sex, isn't it?

Try going your whole life refraining from the opposite sex who you are naturally attracted to.

For those who are attracted to the same sex, they "supposedly chose" to be though they are really straight, and those attracted to the opposite sex are just naturally straight.

For those of you who are straight, would you agree that you didn't choose to be, and that you are just naturally straight?

So since everyone is naturally straight (according to Christians), why would anyone choose against their own nature?

According to them, I'm apparently really straight by nature and though by nature I'm really attracted to women, I think that I'll just choose to fool around with a guy though I'd rather be with a woman because we're all straight by nature, right?

Makes perfect sense that I'd go with a guy when I'm naturally attracted to women, right?

For you Christians who actually are attracted to the same sex, but are out of your heads full of religious guilt, I feel for you. Religion has damaged you to the point that you can't be who you truly are without feeling guilty about it, and as a result living an endless cycle of misery.

For those of you raised by ignorant religious parents I really feel for you because they're doing so much damage to you in the name of religion, and since they think that it's a choice they won't ever understand that you are just naturally gay, and they'll forever make you feel that you're a sinner who needs to pray your gay away, as if you could.

They might not ever begin to understand it because they're so ate up with religion, but what they're doing to you is called "mental abuse".

They're doing you no favors whatsoever while because of man-made misguided religion, they believe that they are, and are wasting their precious lives and yours, and the good loving parental relationship that they could be having with you is terribly being compromised by their shear ignorance....but parents always know best, right?

Some will time and again have exposure to every bit of evidence that supports the natural reality of homosexuality, yet they will knee-jerkingly continue to resort back to what religion has taught them even though it makes no sense.

They've been at home their whole lives with that ignorant line of thinking that they can't be comfortable with any other way of thinking, and so much to the point that they'll let it interfere with a loving relationship with their own gay children.

Sure, that makes sense, doesn't it?

For you parents who are like this I sincerely hope that you don't have any gay kids because if so they're in for a world of misery all because of YOU and your BONE HEADED STUPID BRAIN WASHED IGNORANCE.

I wish you would speak you're mind more. :) Good post, btw.

Never, ever ceases to amaze me how uptight some people are when it comes to sexuality. Fortunately, nowadays, only a fringe segment of the Christian right sees a gay kiss in a cartoon as a big deal. Wasn't it Falwell that had a hissy fit over one of the Teletubbies? There are a few Falwell's that remain but they are rapidly becoming more and more irrelevant.

I hate labels. But I'm pretty sure that I fall in the Christian Right category. I'm not upset about this.

I am upset about childhood cancer. And I am really mad that we don't have a cure yet for juvenile type 1 diabetes.

Thank you. Someone with their priorities straight (see what I did there?).

Will you let your kids watch the movie?

So he's gay?! It's not like you're going to see him have sex with another man in the movie.

I have a problem with this, but not because it is gay people kissing. I have problem with it because it is further erosion of standards. Sex is pervasive in all our media and the standards keep dropping. Yes I turn the channel a lot. When I listen to radio in the car, especially in the morning, I constantly change channels. The talk is all crass. The songs are often over the top, basically telling young people in innuendo and code how to have sex. The same in TV and movies. Even commercials on TV are overrun by sex. It is just too much in my opinion.

But, I don't like porn like some people do and those that like porn probably say I need to loosen up. Sorry, not going to happen. I am for freedom to do as you please in the privacy of your home. I don't want crap pushed at me though, and this falls in that category for me.

I would think you just wouldn't let your kids watch it if you are concerned. Just like anything else you wouldn't want them to watch. :idunno:

A kids show or movie should have to subject them to immortals and stuff.

It's an agenda.

I already know of a few school trips that have been cancelled to watch the movie. Hopefully more follow suit.

Will you let your kids watch the movie?

Beauty and the Beast? I will check the ratings first. If it's G or PG, we are good. PG-13, then I will have to read why it has the rating. One of my favorite Disney cartoons, so I am interested in the movie.
