Improved from year's past but not where they want to be I am sure. They have some nice talent coming up which will help continued improvement.

Will they be regional contenders, who knows. As long as CovCath keeps getting the best Catholic kids in Boone/Kenton/Hamilton/Clermont counties they will be the leader.

They are getting some of the best non-Catholic players in those areas too. As soon as they graduate they will be done going to church......Lol!!!

Who are the non Catholics on their team ?

Newport comes out by double digits. They are a very athletic team that rebounds well even w/o much size.

Newport by 10. No answer for Burries.

If not this game then when for Highlands? Seems like it's always next year.

I've been saying the same thing about CC football my whole life..

2001. That's hard to believe

If you're referring to the last time Highlands won the 9th Region, even that particular year they really weren't expected to. That was Ross Neltner's sophomore season, and Gino Guidugli senior year. They ended up beating a loaded Conner team in a double overtime thriller in the championship game. Other tough teams were NewCath with it being Ronnie Dawn's senior year, and Simon Kenton & CovCath were no slouches either.

1999 was Derek Smith, and Jared Lorenzen's senior season and the last time they won being the clear favorites, though throughout Neltner's career they remained a top team in the 9th.

They were also fairly competitive during the years of the player whose name now escapes me that went on to play at Coastal Carolina, I think... Anyone remember his name, and what years he played at Highlands? Thinking around 2005 or somewhere there abouts.

Will everyone be at full strength tomorrow night.

Improved based upon what exactly? Record?

The fact that they can beat a few 9th Region Teams ranked 5-12.

Don't forget the great middle school teams they have coming up! That is always brought up it seems.
