I'm thinking Mercer County has canceled school because of sickness this year and still had enough healthy bodies to play games on canceled school days. I could be wrong on that but I am pretty certain they have had canceled school days without canceling games.

When district tournaments are canceled because of sickness then I'll be sympathetic. Until then it strikes me as a convienent excuse.

If Boyle had 7 kids confirmed flu 3 days before District tournys started and more not feeling well then I think you would feel differently. SW needed to play that game worse than anybody. SW hasn't played since the 13th and wont play a game till the 24th. Nobody wants 11 days off at this time of year with no games.

Schools need to have jugs of Purell in each room and encourage the kids and teachers to use some every time they enter a room.

False. If Boyle had 7 kids out confirmed flu 3 days before district tournament I'd still be saying play the game and that the optics look bad to cancel the game. No one hates canceled games more than I do. No one on this earth. Like I said, it's a good thing you're in a 3 team district because it's clear you guys won't be able to practice until when, Wednesday? Thursday? Takes a while to get rid of the flu and if the fear is spreading it amongst the team then you should probably not practice at all until Wednesday to be safe and make sure your locker room is good and sanitized. It won't affect your entry into the region tournament so by all means, everyone stay home until next Wednesday and get doctor clearance to resume basketball activities in a good clean safe environment.

I have several hand sanitizers as soon as you enter my room. Kids use them freely all day. They love the scented ones from Bath and Body Works!

I don't believe it's false if you would think instead of react emotionally. It's NOT a good idea to play a game when you could infect not only ur team but the other team. I get what ur saying I hate cancelled games too but be real. It wasn't and will never be a good idea to play. Thing is ur giving ur opinion like SW used it as excuse not to play Mercer. Far from truth. SW needed that game.

Saturday was the final night of the regular season, so no reschedule.

Soooo Southwestern had enough kids to play in the 12th Region JV tournament yesterday but not enough kids to play Mercer County on Friday night. Must have been the 12 hour flu bug going around.
