February 16, 20179 yr I heard March could be colder than normal, but I'm no @nWo. That will probably be our luck. 20 degrees and snow during the state tournament in March.
February 16, 20179 yr I see nothing but 60s in the future forecast. Is the worst of winter over? My weather channel app says something in the 40s for highs the last couple days of Feb and the first couple days of March. To your larger point, we are getting close.

February 16, 20179 yr I've been watching the long range weather model CFS. Winter is not quite finished as of yet. I see a couple of shots of temps in the 20s all the way until around March 20th. Also maybe a shot or two of snow. In between we could see some strong to severe thunderstorms. I've really been concerned about the severe weather potential this coming spring. I don't have anything definite but it is just a feeling I have and I've been watching the severe weather along the Gulf Coast so far this year. The strength and severity of these storms have me concerned.

Unusually warm and moist weather conditions in late winter or early spring is nice while it is in place but if a 70 degree humid day gets hit by a front 40 degrees colder the results can be unpleasant. That's what occurred April 3, 1974 when we had the great tornado outbreak stretching from Alabama to the Canadian border. Over 300 people died that day, 30+ in Kentucky.

I've seen outlooks for them that are saying they are looking for more severe storms this spring and 1974 was mentioned.

If that is what it takes to have 60+ degrees weather, I am all for it:lol2: Tim Hedrick, the late great Channel 12 weatherman once told me (at a club VB tourney where our daughters were playing) that any forecast more than a few days out is pretty much a guess (especially around here where the weather changes so often - now in Phoenix you can say it will be 90 and sunny for 10 straight days and easily be correct). He did not like 7-10 day forecasts because they are so inaccurate (but the TV execs make all the weathermen do them).

I just hope you are wrong when you say it looks like bad weather and hope you are right when you say it looks like good weather. Nothing more or less...
February 17, 20179 yr What winter? We've had spring peepers chorusing, daffodils sprouting, magnolias blooming.
