Non-Baseball Movies That Include Baseball

Featured Replies

In the epic climax of Field Of Dreams, James Earl Jones mentions that baseball marks the passage of time.

I can think of at least a few movies where baseball is mentioned/shown, but it's not the main focus.

City Slickers. The guys mention their love of baseball in some of their favorite memories. Also, their knowledge of trivia.

Mr. Destiny. In a movie about why things happen to us in life, the pivotal moment of the movie (& Jim Belushi's character) is during a high school baseball game.

Any others that come to mind?

Can't believe I didn't think of that!

Dazed and Confused features the last out of a baseball game and mentions Mitch being a decent pitcher on a couple different occasions.

In Going My Way/The Bells of St. Mary's, Father O'Malley talks with kids about being a big fan of the St. Louis Browns and occasionally wears a Browns jacket. Plays baseball in the street with some kids in Going My Way.

Never been kissed.

In the movie Rain Man, Raymond (Dustin Hoffman) nervously repeats the famous "Who's on First?" skit when his brother Charlie, played by actor Tom Cruise, makes him anxious by meddling with his personal effects.

In 28 Days the love interest of Sandra Bullock is a pro baseball player that checks into rehab.

My favorite movie of all time, Good Will Hunting. Sean describes to Will the day he met his wife and had a drink with her instead of going to Game 6 of the 1975 World Series.

"Sorry, guys; I gotta see about a girl."

"I didn't know Pudge was gonna hit a homer. "

"Good Morning Vietnam", they play "Baseball" with cabbage and a stick as a way of bonding.

"Ferris Bueller's Day Off"...they go to Wrigley for a game!!!
