Most impressive takeaway from the game for me was that Monk had 8 rebounds.

 

He had 8 total rebounds in the previous 5 games combined.

I didn't get to watch a lot of the game but from what I saw it looked like they moved the ball well.

 

Best ball movement they had all season and it continually opened better shots for guys. Didn't see to many dumb shots yesterday, compared to most games.

He just is not a good shooter lol. The first three he was wide open, so I can live with that. His other shots he basically forced while being guarded. Which he simply is not Good enough to make contested shots.

 

He comes in and gives good minutes by playing hard on defense. However offensively there isnt much he does well. He is not even that great if a ball handler either. Play hard defense, rebound and pass the ball should be his main things. Then shoot if wide open.

I will say that I don't mind his little jump stop floater he shoots from like 6-7 feet out. His vertical is pretty astonishing.

Which is exactly why I was so made when he took that late 3 point shot vs Georgia and it took a miracle to give Monk one more look.

 

This team really needs to understand that Monk, Willis and Munday are the only real gunners from three and everyone else might if wide open. Gabriel will be a pretty good shooter but he's hot and cold right now and as soon as he missed a couple was on the bench for most of the first half last night.
