Highlands at Columbus DeSales Predictions

Featured Replies

This upcoming Friday Highlands takes a trip north to Columbus, Ohio to face Division III power Saint Francis DeSales. Last year, DeSales beat up HHS pretty good. How will this year's contest go?

I'll say:

Highlands 28

Columbus DeSales 24

I think the Birds have a good chance to avenge their loss from last year.... Like I said in another thread if Beechwood can hang with Alter than the Birds should be able to hang with DeSales... GO BIRDS:banana:

DeSales will be fired up for the Birds after last year's schenanigans.

DeSales by 13.

What were last years schenanigans?

DeSales 35 HHS 13

DeSales 35 HHS 13

Let me get this straight. HHS kills Beechwood in a game like scrimmage. Beechwood loses to Kettering Alter 18-0 which by the way is the #1 DIII team in Ohio. Columbus DeSales is the #2 ranked DIII team in Ohio but HHS is going to lose 35-13..... I don't think so......

The only thing I can think he might be referring to is when DeSales was up and they put in their subs the Birds kept their starters in and I believe also did a successful onside kick. I don't think its shenanigans though, what were they supposed to do, roll over and just give up? Heck, you have to try to get back in the game.

I don't know why anyone has a problem with starters stay in for the loosing team and the 2nd team goes in for the winning team. Heck the second half of the HHS /PSW game was Highlands 2nd against PSW starters. PSW played their hearts out the second half when many others might have given up. I don't believe there is a written rule or that it is even considered a courtesy for a coach to put his second team in when the opposing team has chosen to do so. It's football for crying out loud and the goal is to win.

I don't know much about the DeSales team, but I do know I am rooting for the birds. Once again, good-luck from your SEKY fan!

De Sales has been a little quiet this season which could be scary so with that in mind I say De Sales 35-17.

I just don't see them putting up 35 on the 'Birds. Anything is possible I guess.
