Collins, Shelby County, and Spencer County are all no. I believe Henry County does have a light though.

They also have a college size floor and are the permanent site of the 6th and 7th region tournaments for boys and girls and the boys LIT.

As of post #34, we've listed 46 schools. 32 (69.56%) do not have lighted backboards, and 14 (30.44%) do have lighted backboards.

Garrard County does and it is a very good thing. Definitely helps referees during end of quarter/half/game situations.

 

I don't see how this would help? Not NCAA or NBA where they can go back and review. The only way this would help is if the official is watching the ball in the air and not when it leaves the players hand, which would cause for an inaccurate call. Can't look at the player shooting and the backboard at the same time.

I'm thinking more on late clock rebounds. Batting ball around, trying to get a handle and a shot. Light comes on, horn sounds, all is finished.
