To be fair, it wasn't a letter from some inconsequential person. It was the wife of the greatest civil rights leader in our country. Considering the biggest critique of Sessions is his alleged racial improprieties, I'd say Ms. King's testimony would be relevant if it hadn't been a violation of senate rules.

 

Mrs. King wrote the letter to Strom Thurmond. An outright racist himself.

If that's supposed to be Sen. McConnell, then it hits the nail on the head. Anyone who didn't know just how clever he was has gotten a full shot of it for weeks now. The success of the DeVos nomination is almost entirely on him. He shut this down by knowledge of the senate rules (the sort of institutional knowledge that is massively reduced with term limits by the way). He's made himself politically indispensable to a man he absolutely did not want to be president.

I'll say it again, the Democrats in the Senate have brought this on themselves. In their arrogance in wanting to pack federal courts and approving any appointment that Former President Obama wanted to make, plus the added arrogance that they NEVER envisioned a Democrat not winning the White House again they took away their only tool to stop a cabinet appointment. Now all they have left is the current fiasco of whiney showboating.

Maybe the Cherokee Tribes need to write a letter telling her to shut up or put up. The media plays her a savior with the letter by MLK wife, which was written to a true racist, but yet she lied about being Native American.
