January 15, 20179 yr Looks like they have two different circuses traveling right now. No KY dates left but the "Out of this World" tour makes a stop in Charleston WV in May, the next to last stop. That's what I saw as well. As someone that loves elephant, I'm glad they were removed from the circus. They have reportedly set up a private game preserve in Florida that the retired elephants will live out their life at.
January 15, 20179 yr I'm not a huge circus person and to be honest I miss the elephants, so maybe that's why I don't care much for it anymore. I remember when Ringling Brothers used to come to much smaller venues here locally (Boyd County Middle School Gymnasium) and being able to be that close to the circus and riding on the Elephants as a kid. The family and I went a couple of years ago to the show they do in Charleston and while it was entertaining as far as the theatrics and pyrotechnics, it just wasn't the same as what I remember as a kid. If in fact they were harming animals, I'm glad they're done. My idea of harming may be different than PETA's though. Regardless it's probably best for the animals to be left in a natural habitat so it doesn't matter to me one way or another. I will probably take the family to the Charleston event in May though just to give the kids one last chance to see what is likely the last large circus we will ever have in our lifetime.

Circus Those will be gone, too, by the 21st of May. "Ringling Bros. has two touring circuses this season and will perform 30 shows between now and May. Major stops include Atlanta, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston and Brooklyn. The final shows will be in Providence, Rhode Island, on May 7 and in Uniondale, New York, at the Nassau County Coliseum on May 21."
January 16, 20179 yr Always had great memories of going to their circuses as a kid. It's a shame that it came to this. Took the wife to it 2-3 years ago and was somewhat disappointed. In my opinion, the clowns were trying to hard to audition for Nickelodeon than be clowns that I remember from years past. The talent level was gone.
