Is Mason County giving special treatment to basketball players?

Featured Replies

That's incredibly weak. You don't actually believe that, do you?

So I guess if I curse out someone on here, I can just tell Guru that I wasn't the one actually posting it and that'll make it all okay? Lame.

Wish I could say more but can't.

What do you know?

What do you know?

This is all involving minors here. The school district can't say anything. Would you want your kid's school district advertising personal information about your kid to anyone who asks?

Heck, no!

My kid isn't perfect. But if he ever said anything like that to a girl I'll tell you right now the last thing he would be worried about is the school's punishment!

I understand the sentiment. This kid appears to have really really crossed the line and the gut reaction is give him an exceptionally strong and swift kick in the rear end, to say the least.

Still, if some random parent from the school district demands disclosure on how the situation was handled and the school district does disclose that info, then what happens the next time when a different parent demands disclosure on a matter that isn't nearly so public issue?

Wish I could say more but can't.

So why did the player quit the team?

In other words, who really sent the tweets. Not clear, the person may have or may not. What is inaccurate is how it is being handled and by whom. These types of things take time in a school system, and the school district cannot tell the public anything. They can't and won't. Due process takes time. There is always a lot more to things than what is on the surface.

Of course people will hear rumors and pass them along. As it moves forward they get bigger and more inaccurate. Happens all the time and is happening in this instance Let it play out. It takes time.

If the rest of his Twitter timeline is any indication, the tweets in question were not a case of him being "hacked" or anything of the sort.

The kid made a mistake, but he absolutely was the one doing the tweeting.

Man, came into this late I guess and completely lost.

From multiple sources close to the program: Got into altercation with a player and then the coach. Cleared out his locker and left.

The girls basketball team doesn't have this problem.

Someone should write a book on Mason County basketball.
