Is Mason County giving special treatment to basketball players?

Is that the coach's right? Can a coach punish a kid on his team for non-school-related issues?

A coach can kick a player off the team at any time I do believe.

Not sure about punishment.

It's the coaches team, he can do whatever he wants with it, add or remove players at will. It may not always work that way, due to coaches fear of being fired. Even if he didn't kick the players off the team, he could obviously bench them.

And when I say sexual harassment I mean it. Take what you're thinking and times it by 10.

You weren't lying there.

This happened at school, during school, with two students at school. Don't see why it's any different than saying it in person.

I have a real problem with this stuff being posted on BGP. There is inaccurate information being posted. Assumptions are being made that have not been fully investigated.

This is way beyond what a high school sports forum should include. The discussions are ok to a limit in my mind, but posting tweets that no one can officially verify at this time is going beyond what our purpose should be.

The opening statement is inaccurate in this whole thread. I know some will think it is, but it isn't and the school and a KID is being judged with inaccurate info. This is wrong.

Should this be in the private forum? Just sayin..

I personally don't have a problem with it here, but unless something has changed, anyone and everyone can see this thread. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing.

I'm not the one to make a call on something like this obviously, but the kid put the tweets out for the world to see on public website that anyone can access. They were fair game for anyone to see. I'm not sure how you would verify it. They have since been deleted it looks like.

And none of the images say who is involved.

Posts containing screen captures of the Tweets have been deleted. Even though we're in the Controversial Issues forum, we aren't going to allow posts like that.

What's inaccurate? The tweets are out there for everyone to see. Or are you saying those are made up?

What do you mean by "no one can officially verify" if he tweeted it or not?

What do you mean by "no one can officially verify" if he tweeted it or not?

In other words, who really sent the tweets. Not clear, the person may have or may not. What is inaccurate is how it is being handled and by whom. These types of things take time in a school system, and the school district cannot tell the public anything. They can't and won't. Due process takes time. There is always a lot more to things than what is on the surface.

Of course people will hear rumors and pass them along. As it moves forward they get bigger and more inaccurate. Happens all the time and is happening in this instance Let it play out. It takes time.

That's incredibly weak. You don't actually believe that, do you?

So I guess if I curse out someone on here, I can just tell Guru that I wasn't the one actually posting it and that'll make it all okay? Lame.
