There actually is one that is very informative...I can't recall the title off the top of my head, but there is a copy in Deering's Barber Shop downtown....

The girls basketball team doesn't have this problem.

 

What's your point? This is pretty clearly an individual student. How is the girls basketball team even relevant in the conversation?

 

 

A: Some white kid shot up a bunch of black church goers in South Carolina.

B: They didn't have a white kid shoot up a bunch of black church goers in North Carolina.

There have been numerous things these past two years that have happened with the basketball team. Not just this one.

2) One player being suspended for summer games and then trying to move

3) Last year a player tweeted Buddy Biggs is the worst coach he's ever played for and was still on the team

Wasn't Pig suspended last year? And this year, a player was suspended for some games after an on-the-court incident. Kids aren't just running amok in this program from what I can see (from afar).

The player who was suspended over the summer was the same one with the recent tweets. This was an incident that happened in the classroom.

When the super tells the principal that school staff can't look at and punish students social media then by definition its not special treatment of basketball its a blanket of all students. Does it seem like a good outcome? NO. Does Corleone have some axe to grind? Magic 8 ball says, YES

How about this, should a high school regulate student and student-athlete social media accounts?

When the super tells the principal that school staff can't look at and punish students social media then by definition its not special treatment of basketball its a blanket of all students. Does it seem like a good outcome? NO. Does Corleone have some axe to grind? Magic 8 ball says, YES

 

I don't think so....I won't speak for Vito, but I'm guessing that Vito just has a fair amount of knowledge about this program, likely some past historical perspective and may not like the way the current program is headed or has gone.....

 

No disrespect to Coach Biggs, he inherited this train wreck...there is a problem within this team and it is Lack of Discipline....period (now before anyone blasts off about lumping an entire team with a few bad eggs, let's remember that I used within as the operative here)

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. As far as the popcorn, it's been years and years since I've had it, I was stiil in high school at Ashland. Good stuff though.

Absolutely and unequivocally NO. I will say it again: schools think they have too much power already and have no business getting involved in the business of parenting students that attend the school they are employed by.

 

Who would be the standard setter in this case ? Why is that administrator's opinion about good and bad the judge / jury in that case ?

Now I haven't followed this, but with the quoted post in mind, has Mason County done anything wrong or is this simply the wrong actions of one student?
