I'm a bit surprised that people see no potential issues with his governing and his businesses. The left and media would just say while he does not own the companies, his sons do so anything he does is still a conflict of interest. You have to know that, right?

Why are we going to wait to see vs just eliminating the problem like other POTUS have done? When he makes any concession to China in a negotiation people are going to fairly wonder if it's because he personally owes them so much money. We can't be wondering that with the POTUS. If the assets and running the businesses are of utmost important do not run for POTUS. Public service requires sacrifice.

He paid for his primary run and pretty much bankrolled his national campaign since the Republican Party and it's megadonors refused to give him money and actually spent around $300,000 to try to defeat him. Only someone with his chutzpah and discretionary money like he has could bankroll his run for the Whitehouse and win. He didn't do it for profit, he did it for love of this country. Believe it, don't believe, I don't really care since so many have lied about him so much. He's taking no salary, many of his cabinet are taking no salary either, his son-in-law is taking no salary, any profits made by hotels, dining spots, recreational like golf courses receiving money from foreign countries now managed by the sons will be donated to the U.S. Treasury, one son has given up his charity that supports research for childhood cancer. Are you saying for you to be happy he has to sell all of his business interests to non-family interests? Why on earth would he do that? He spent 40 years building a vast business empire. Like 99% of business owners who have sons or daughters capable of taking it over when they retire or die, he wants his kids to run it. So why should he and his kids not have that right? Also, completely divesting in hundreds of companies worth billions is not that easy. You cannot go to Walgreens and get a "billion dollar business empire divestiture kit". It would take months if not years to do... Also, one of the largest assets (intangible) of the Trump empire is simply the name Trump...should we make him change his name? Should we make any hotel with the name Trump on it be called something else? You see where you can go when you go down this "complete divestiture" road. Legally, he does not even HAVE to do what he has done. He could just say I will remain in charge of the companies while being president. As Mamaw has accurately stated, he has already sacrificed more financially than any other president ever... If Trump starts doing things unethically with his companies, we will know.
