Coach K

Featured Replies

My point is not really the talent of this current team , its more about the obvious bias of the NCAA . And noting the two times when K's back went out his teams were not exactly on top of the world. Again just my opinion , but this team was headed downhill FAST . I'm not buying the " Va Tech is legit" talk. They have no legit PG , Tatum is fine, Giles looks timid as heck . 5 star Bolden looks slow and not ready. Mr Trippy is on a vacation ( soon to be back with K's back being bad and all) My point is things were headed downhill. He bailed. He's a phony .

I'm darn sure not a Duke fan but I don't know how you can call a coach that's won 5 national championships and two Olympic Gold medals a "phony".

His public persona and ESPN persona , the media darling etc etc - doesn't match who he really is . Same guy that petitioned the NCAA to remove losses from his first back injury .

Its not that he isn't a good coach - its the public image vs things he has done ( and not done) that lead me to call him a total phony . I don't think he would have suspended Allen without the public outcry . Remember after the game he was like " we will review it" or handle it internally then next morning he suspends him after a high degree of public outcry. Many other episodes as well

We've pretty much set him to ignore. The stuff this guy comes up with some crazy tin foil hat type things.

Yeah , like lecturing the Oregon player last year during the NCAA tourney , totally denying it , then backtracking after a court mic caught him doing it ?

Or slapping the clip board out of the managers hand a few weeks back and making him pick it up a second time ?

Yes he's a great coach , but he's not the darling the media make him out to be . He's a word that's on the banned list round' here .

" We've "- you got a mouse in your pocket ? :lol::lol::lol:

Like calling in STUDENT media to severely curse them out ? But got caught by a student recording it .

Woke up this afternoon and saw the news. Had no idea it was coming. Definitely an audition for Capel. He recruited most of this team along with Nate James. It'll be interesting to see what he does with them.

Needless to say this season hasn't gone how I expected it to. Seems like that always happens when expectations are high.

One of my favorite phrases that is borrowed from someone - " players are a direct reflection of the head coach " . Could the Grayson Allen thing of acting out be a direct reflection of K and temper tantrums ? Looks to me like he has taken on the personality of his coach .

2015 UK is 34-0 , # 1 overall seed - Had Big 12 Champ Kansas as our 2 seed , had ACC champ Notre Dame as 3 seed with Arizona and Wisconsin on our side of the bracket . Duke got year in year out over rated Gonzaga in the elite 8 . That draw was criminal and anyone that tries to explain it away as anything other than Duke bias is full of :poop:

Why not have the surgery this past summer ? This isnt an acute injury .
