I'm going to go with Lincoln in this one. Whitley wore us down and put 3 VERY late TD's on a tired 1A school. (It was still a close game 1/2 through the 4th qtr.) This is a very good 4A squad coming in. They won't tire out and they will beat Whitley. Whitley has a rough road to hoe, and I see a very real chance of maybe only 2 more wins for the Colonels.(NL/Clark, and I don't know what Clark has right now.)

After Lincolns win last week I give them the nod in this game. GRC has a very good team this year...don't see Whitley winning that one either.

I had forgot about Montgomery County. Whitley has a shot against , maybe, NL and Montgomery Co. I think that this week (with Lincoln) begins a bad slide for the Colonels.

Would love to see the Colonels win but I think Lincoln Co. will prevail, 34 - 20.

Ye of little Faith, I told you last week Whitley would win and they did! They beat a great Lynn Camp team. I mean from what I read LC has a great shot to win the District and might contend for the region.

This week I tell you Whitley will win! They are a top notch four A school and will show everyone that they belong up there with Henry Clay and Madison Central

Braxton Miller recieved the injury last year, still one half of that backfield.

In the late 1970's, when Lincoln County High School was formed from the merger of the county's various high schools, LC and Whitley County were in the same AAA sub-district. They played 6 straight seasons from 1975 through 1980 before not scheduling each other again until 2005 when they were placed in the same AAAA district. Lincoln County leads the 7 game series 4 games to 3.

I have never understood how that Lincoln team lost to both Whitley and Garrard County that year.

This game should tell us how good Lincoln really is this season, and has some serious playoff implications. I'm looking forward to see how this one shakes out.

They maintained half of that backfield last year. Trent Calhoun suffered a season-ending injury in the second game of the season last year, a 35-13 victory over Garrard County. This year's Patriot squad is a much better team.

 

Calhoun was injured late in the season, against Madison Central in a game where Lincoln was primed to upset the Indians. I know he played against both North and South Laurel and was pretty impressive last year.

 

That being said, Whitley is still trying to find their offensive identity as a more pass oriented team. I think Lincoln has been pretty impressive this season and have to give the edge to Lincoln in this one, as long as they don't have a letdown from last week's emotional upset win over Rockcastle.

How are the Patriots, injury-wise, for this game?

To my knowledge LC will put the same team on the field this Friday night that played against Rock.

Whitley can play with any team in there dist, you might be forgetting how good the Colonels are. Right now at GRC, we got players out, I'm glad were not playing Lincoln, or Whitley.

Just for information. Two different kids,two different injuries. Miller had a dislocated elbow against Garrard, ended his season. Calhoun had a minor injury at Madison Central late in the season.
