Kunkle is a beast if those other 2 guys that are out are better than him...Wow!!. Coopers coach is very energetic and very complimentary of his players play...he keeps the bench engaged and everyone that goes on the floor contributes...best coach in the tourney. #ParisPride

Good team effort tonite. Younger guys stepped up. Hendrix played the entire game and stepped back into his old PG role ran the team the last two games along with great defense. Big effort by Wasser!! Keep it going Jags!

Catholic missed way too many easy shots and free throws.

Cooper missed free throws too.

They wanted it more and got it done with two starters out. The Jags flat out get after it on DEFENSE!!!!!

Makes the 9th Region much more interesting. It's starting to resemble the 7th and 11th regions and this year, the 6 th. Nice job Coach Sully

Let's not get too carried away. The 6th is the best region this year by far, then the 11th, then the next tier is the 9th and then probably the 7th.

I missed it but what are Shawn and Chris injurys?

Who was it a couple of weeks ago that said Cooper didn't deserve to be ranked? I cat remember which Cooper thread it was on.

Great week by them.

Congratulations to Cooper. Tremendous win in a strong tourney. Short handed too??? Very impressive. I see y'all.

I missed it but what are Shawn and Chris injurys?

Sean has knee injury (MRI to come still) Chris has wrist injury (broke?)

Lexington Catholic (8-6)–Price 0 1 1, Johnson 8 5 24, Scott 2 0 5, Payne 3 7 13, Whitman 0 2 2. Totals: 13 15 45.

Cooper (9-3)–Hendrix 2 1 5, Kunkel 8 2 20, Ollier 2 1 5, Runion 1 0 2, Walters 4 0 9, Wasser 3 2 8. Totals: 20 2 49.

Halftime: C 25-19. 3-pointers: C 3 (Kunkel 2, Walters); LC 4 (Johnson 3, Scott).

Thought it was interesting that the Lexington Herald Leader article blamed the Lex Cath loss on "cold shooting" and gave ZERO credit to Cooper's tough defense. Oh well, spin it how you want LHL....

Watched this game online and wondered. Is LexCath missing some players? Two players had 37 of their 45 points. Are they just a 2 man show offensively? Also heard that player Payne is KY. assistant coach Payne's son?

I really like how Cooper plays (and I've made no secret of that).

I am starting to think their win-every-possession style of play contributes to their injury #'s. Remember last year they played in the regional without McNeil, Kunkel, and Hendrix.

Not sure how to tell a kid to dial it back - but sometime I wish they'd lose a few more battles so they would be healthy enough to win the war.

9th region has been legit for about 4 yrs now and still is a hard region to win.

May be a valid point but simply not in the DNA of this team. Hendrix was the only one the missed the regionals last year. McNeil and Kunkle played in the loss to NCC. Just hoping the McNeil brothers make it back soon and there are no more injuries. This team has a chance to be really special when they are at full strength.
