Cooper 57 Paul Laurence Dunbar 55

Maybe he saying it's an upset b/c they played without their best player.

Anyine here anything more about his injury?

Missed around 4 or 5 free throws, I believe.

10/21 from the line.

Kunkle carried the Jags tonite offensively and got key points from others. Hendrix and Runion played big defensively despite lack of size. Huge 3 by #10 during the run helped.

Hoping the younger McNeil injury is minimal but he went down hard on his wrist on a bad charge call imo. Cooper is young but others will have to step up.

I didn't hear the broadcast, but that would be my thought as well. Without McNeil I think this was an upset. At full strength I would have considered Cooper a slight favorite.

I agree with the inside pounding for sure! But if healthy could make a major run. Boy I love Kunkel's game!

Cooper - Hendrix 3 2 8, Kunkel 10 1 27, Ollier 2 1 6, Runion 1 5 7, McNeil 2 0 4, Walters 2 1 5. Totals: 20 10 57.

Dunbar - Richardson 4 0 10, Yeast 1 0 3, Corio 0 1 1, Gray 2 2 6, Hollingsworth 8 4 23, Gadd 2 0 4, Ifeacho 2 1 5, Gray 1 0 3. Totals: 20 9 55.

Halftime score: Cooper 30-27. 3-pointers: C 7 (Kunkel 6, Walters); D 6 (Hollingsworth 3, Richardson 2, Gray).

From the boxscore, it looks like Kunkel was the best player on the floor in this game?

27 pts (10-17 FG, 6-10 3FG)

I didn't get that feeling from him when I was listening to the broadcast.

He did mention how Dunbar was missing their big man Dontell Brown who is out with a torn ACL. Like G, I love Gary Ball also but this wasn't an upset especially if you are going to mention how the defending state champs are missing one of their most important pieces but not mention how Cooper was missing one of theirs.

Dante Hendricks was huge! He did a little bit of everything and played one of his best all around games. Kid is a winner!

Kunkel is one of the best in 2018 class, he plays with a great deal of confidence and simply is a great scorer. It is hard to stop a kid that can score from anywhere on the court. Nice win for Cooper with their other top player injured.

There were just talking heads that had done zero prep work on either team or basketball in the state as a whole.

I agree, the production and picture quality of the games were great, they could have done some more homework on the teams and players IMO. They didn't even know who Luke Johnson had committed to, doesn't make them bad guys.....just not prepared.
