I will say one more thing, shame on how the boyd parents were acting in the stands. how are the kids on the team suppose to respect the head coach when they see parents act like some of you were!

This sounds like a post from years past.

What is it with Boyd Co sports and the parents? It seems to be an on going problem every year?

Well what it is, just politics and money basically. Ya got the parents that let the kids just go do their thing and support them, then you have the parents that will do ANYTHING to make sure their kid is top spot even if they don't deserve it. Then throw in a coach that one of the parents gets to and decides yea let's make this one kid the star and it all goes to Hades in a handbasket real quick. And they're just get'n tired of loosing I think.

Congrats to the people at Russell in charge of dedicating the field to Ivan McGlone. Imo this class act was way too long overdue but someone finally got it right. Congrats to coach McGlone.

On a high note, the pre-game show for Ivan was very nice indeed! That's a coach parents have stuck by and it was great seeing how everyone took to their feet and applauded him.

I don't have a dog in the fight but that kind of thing goes on everywhere to some extent. It is a shame.

Yea it is a shame. Only hurts the kids.

Russell was never really threatened. Kasey Clark had another good game. No stats yet but I would say well over 100 yards and 3 TDs. And he blocked much better.

Russell needs to play with more emotion. This game really resembled a scrimmage with Russell working on some different things offensively.

Jones threw the ball pretty well and Cordle looked good at QB in the second half. Marcus Frazier had a good game on both sides of the ball and Bryson Perry really stuck out in the second half on defense. I think he earned some more playing time tonight.

Those boys did look good out there for sure.

I think he'll do ok if he'd just tighten up and worry about get'n the kids ready for a game instead of tobacco products. that's about the only thing i've seen about him so far that displeases me. He also needs to get rid of one particular defensive coach to get some improvement. I won't say his name lol, but I'm sure anyone that knows me knows just who I'm talking about.

For Boyd I was impressed with Crisp and Barker the most. It looked like coach Evans started going two those to more as the game went on.

The QB showed me something too. Every time he dropped back to pass he was being chased but showed some nice scrambling ability and was able to make a few plays under heavy pressure. Not bad for soph.

Tough loss for the Lions and their coaching staff against a rival and quality opponent. Hope Coach Evans is given enough time from the BC faithful to lead this program in the right direction.

Russell played a bit better but still aren't clicking on all cylinders just yet. Now, they start experimenting with things to find the right mixture. They have everything there , it's just a matter of finding what positions they are best suited for. I think there will be some switching of positions in the next few weeks to see what fits best and once they do, watch out because the skies the limit for this team.

Boyd fans, give Coach Evans a chance. It's just the 3rd game of his tenure. He WILL lead this program in the right direction but it takes time. Be patient, you have the right man for the job. Good luck to you the rest of the season.

Anybody got stats from this game.
