Russell 35 Boyd County 0

Featured Replies

Boyd will struggle here. Coach Evans will have to feel the brunt of a years worth of bragging endured by the Red Devils.

 Wow, I must be lost on this one..

So, I guess we should have bragged on beating Russell last year? (well some might have:thumb: )

I think Russell bragging till next year is the least of our worries at Boyd right now. We just need time to grow as a team. Remember Boyd is a very young team and will get better...:D

Oh, I didn't just imagine reading that did I? Considering you beat the state champs, perhaps you deserved it, but I wouldn't bet that it hasn't been bulletin board type material for a little added motivation for Friday! And for what it's worth, I never said you needed to worry about bragging rights, I'd be more worried about Clark running for 200+.

Hello...the game was played last Friday. Boyd already lost, and if Clark is still running well...he may have covered 200 miles by now, and I'd have to say he is pretty tired by now. :jump:

Is this like Groundhog Day or Back to the Future? I feel like I'm having de javue all over again.

Hello, I'm well aware of that, and I'm well aware you didn't score, I was speaking in generalities. I was only saying that Boyd fans were yucking it up with the Russell folks prior to the game with regards to being the one to beat the champs, and that fact couldn't have helped your shutout. I'd have been more concerned with Clark running for 200 than running my trap. Is that clearer?

I'll take this one back by editing - wish I could just delete it.

Ditto !!!

33 - 14 as per KHSAA website

Russell very deservingly won the state championship, they have a great program with a great bunch of people involved.

The rings are really nice, and so what if the Boyd County people enjoy being the 1 on the 14-1 that will always be on the side of the ring..................

Everyone from top to bottom will back Coach Evans, he stands for what is right and is one of the best teacher/coaches that I have ever meet.

Coaching high school football is a roller coaster ride of good years and bad, Coach Evans will work hard with his players and staff to get the most out of both.

yea, you know just a dip to get em fired up. I think coaches allowing players on a field with tobacco products should be brought up for review no matter who he is.

But..........earlier on in this thread, you said that Coach Evans needs to worry more about getting the boys ready for a game and less about tobacco products.

Which one is it?

Also curious..........do you have a boy on the team?

Snuff among other things. And no i dont have a son on the team so i'm not concerned with anyone in particular's playing time. Seems people forget alumni still do have an interest in their roots though.

As for politics I didn't state Evans in particular, if you go back into some of my other comments in the past you'll see that I'm all for Evans in hopes of changing Boyd's history of how sports at the school is run in general. Now if your a parent out there and you don't believe politics or money has anything to do with playing time then your one in the good graces and ain't going to admit it anyways. As for Evans I'm seeing him so far as fair and working with what was given him. It will take him some time to get the team arranged the way he wants it I just hope to see him step up and make the future choices by talent, not by how things went in years past.
