Great work as always, I don't know how you do it with such short hands. :idunno:

I have lots of help to overcome my deficiencies!

I was impressed with QB Dampier (19-29 243 yds and 4 TD and 1 running TD). That's big-time. WR Walker (8 rec 176 yds and an INT on defense) looks to have great hands and speed and ability to run after the catch.

For HC, the duo of Barnes and Abernathy had great games even though their running yardage were both held under 100 yds. Barnes had 2 running TD and 1 fumble recovery TD. Abernathy had 2 running TD as well. I think everyone was surprised with Barnes' 58 yd pass to Walker out of the Wildcat.

Total offense: HC 287 Danville 301 - obviously the Ads had the better of it through the air while, as expected, the Indians dominated the ground game.

Penalties: 7 each.

Time of Possession (which means absolutely nothing) - HC 28:41 Danville 19:19

Turnovers: 2 each

First downs: Danville 19, HC 15

In short, a great game between 2 teams of contrasting styles. That's what makes high school football great!

I also want to mention how much fun it was with the mini-BGP gathering at tailgating tonight!:dancingpa

Good luck to Danville vs cal!

I missed meeting @Wireman. I would have liked to shake his hand.

As a Fan of neither team I thought with the exception of 2 or 3 bad calls that went in Holy Cross's favor on the last couple of drives that the game was officiated fairly even. Great game to watch and I think Danville had the better team overall.

There was also a pass interference called on Danville that was as bad as it gets. The refs did not determine the winner tonight. To suggest anything like that is almost unbelievable.

Post the plays you mentioned.

This I will agree with, me, BigV, & AA were just completely baffled with this call. However, this could be were the rule interpretation from high school to college/pro gets involved..... @Clyde a little help here please.

The pass was about 40 yards down the sideline, and from our vantage point about a good 5 feet out of bounds and about 5 feet over the receivers head....without question nowhere near a catch-able pass.

Catchable pass only applies to the NFL if I am not mistaken. Clizzy will let us know.

Why Holy Cross doesn't run Barnes to death is beyond me. I have thought for years that Holy Cross's coaching is suspect. They should of beat Beechwood this year if they run Barnes and don't try and pass the ball..

I thought the same thing as I watched that game, especially against that small Beechwood line.

You got to remember Barnes is their best defensive player too so if you run him 35 times a game you diminish his ability to change the games on defense. And they absolutely need him to be at his best on defense.

It is not a factor in high school.
