Here are some Wright highlights for those who want to see him. He is effortlessly fast.

Here are Trajon Bright highlights. Go about 10 clips down and there is a premium highlight reel. If you want to see two runs about as good as you will ever see in high school, go to 2:30 mark in that premium highlight reel. There are two runs there against McCracken County - a top tier team - that are just flat awesome.

If you ask me who is faster, I go with Wright. That kid is a special talent. He will have the best of the best in the nation wanting him, from Alabama and Ohio State on down.

 

As to the game, I think Mayfield's passing game is the difference. They run the short quick passing game like no one else. It is basically extended handoffs and when executed well, like Mayfield does, it is very difficult to stop.

 

Bright is an awesome young man... and he's a pretty good football player.

 

The run's I will always remember were the ones against McCracken his sophomore year. He ran backwards 15 yards just as fast as he can forwards. Special player.

Those are the runs I was talking about at the 2:30 mark in the premium highlight reel I posted above. The backwards run is followed by another one against McCracken Co. that I think is even better.

What I noticed with Wright, with his height, he has those HUGE strides. Kid should have played for DeSales because he runs like a Colt... a race horse. I am telling my kicker... DO NOT kick to this guy, if he gets into open space there's going to be trouble. On the other hand, I have to agree, some of the tackling was just bad. You won't see that from Mayfield. One of Wright's long receptions came when he got way behind the defense, hopefully you won't see that Mayfield, but it's been known to happen.

Same here. To me it never gets old.

I talked with Toothpick for over 30 minutes about the game yesterday (yes, on Thanksgiving...don't judge us). We see the game similarly. Should be a good one. I would much rather be watching the game as a nervous parent, but it will be nice for a change to simply watch as a fan of high level high school football.

Watching as a nervous parent had to be tuff, cause watching as a nervous fan is bout to stress me out!

Just read Lefors' quotes in the local paper. I have a new prediction. Mayfield 35, CAL 10. They sound somewhere between nervous, anxious, and satisfied.

 

“It’s obviously uncharted territory for us,” CAL coach Stefan LeFors said. “We haven’t been here. We don’t know what it’s like to practice on Thanksgiving or all these three days off for these guys. So, we’re trying to keep it as routine as possible but, yes, stay loose. I understand on Friday the kids are going to be nervous. … Where we feel like we can get them to feel most comfortable is by putting all this work in on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to when they get to Friday, ‘Hey, you’re prepared. Are you nervous? That’s fine, but you’re prepared.’”

What is tonights start time, 7:00 or 7:30 ?

7:30 eastern, 6:30 central

Read that in the CJ this morning. A couple of series in and home field advantage should help to quell the nerves.
