Haven't you heard, this CAL team would whoop the 91 Redskins in the trenches? Last year, DeSales "was twice the size of MF". That's right, every 250 lb MF kid had to line down against a 500 pounder. And this CAL team is even better than that. You're dreaming bro. No way could any MF team ever hope to hang with a team that bested DeSales by 7 points.

CAL is more talented, but again, I PREDICT MAYFIELD TO WIN THE GAME because of the intangible value of being a championship program.

So what does CAL depend on offensively? Are they a balanced team or rely on pass/rush more? All I am hearing about is the passing game.

 

Both games this year they ran and ran and ran the ball, then began to open up the passing game in the second quarter. Then they tend to go to Wright in the Wildcat frequently in the second half. He's a weapon on both sides of the ball.

Mayfield's defense will not allow a team to just run it on us, it sounds like CAL has 1 or 2 key players.

I'm actually in agreement with you on CAL's front lines. They are really impressive. This is going to be a monumental task for MF's big-belly's. One thing about it though, when challenged, they have always answered the bell. If CAL gets the better of MF up front, I can promise you, it won't be because MF backed down from anything. They will fight and scrap you all night, no matter the odds or size difference.

I thought we had a shot, but no, I wasn't too optimistic. They had the advantage on us this year that we have always had in the past - the ability to run the ball consistently by winning the battle in the trenches. Add to that the two D-1 players that both play big roles in the passing game, along with a big, strong QB....too much for the Colts to handle.

But it was tied with mins to go

I am hoping CAL gets the win, but from the sound of it, it will be a real battle. I still think Milton makes the difference, he is special, and they can get the ball to him in a ton of ways. I also have to say, I love Austin Carr's game, and his future is bright. I have known him and his dad since he was in the 4th grade and even at that age you could tell he was going to do things. He is one of those kids that excelled in every sport and more importantly, he is a great kid. I wish him and CAL the best of luck:thumb:

CAL put a pretty good whipping on Central did they not? About 30 points if my memory serves me correctly. And, Central is playing in the semi's, as is Corbin whom MHS defeated, barely. This has the makings of a doozie!

I disagree I think Bright will be the best on the field but Wright is 1A from the times I have watched him but I highly respect your opinion. When Bright is getting the attention I love our QB and his squadron of WR's and I hope that is the difference. We are just as good on the ground or in the air. All that said I am highly concerned up front but ours are pretty darn good up there

From what I am seeing so far Wright is a better defensive player while Bright is the better offensive player. Gonna be a real treat to watch these guys!!

Dang, this is another good game in The Ville Friday night. Gonna be tough deciding where to go!
