I think that many were bewildered by the short memories of so many who blatantly placed blame on Obama for everything the minute he stepped foot in the White House making it clear that a fair rational discussion eluded them as they set the pace for insufferable dialogue with their slight-of-hand rewriting and fabrication of reality.

 

The playing field was being set for a disturbing incommunicado, meritless, say anything regardless of the truth type rhetoric just as long as it supported their agenda of a party first goal that allowed diplomatic compromise to fall to the wayside.

 

Sadly it increasingly appears to have become the favorable trend and the very thing that has been widening the gap and contributing to our country's divide.

 

Fair unbiased discussion will be the only thing that can save us, but now that this disturbing tactic is buried deep within our muscle memory and the perpetrators of it have proved relentless, regaining a seemingly rational perspective has become a daunting task.

That was some tedious reading, but if I understand you correctly, you hold Obama blameless for blaming George W. Bush for all of his troubles, and you blame his critics for dividing the country. I respectfully disagree.

 

Leaders thrive under pressure and they willingly accept the challenges that are before them. Campaigns are the time for the blame game. Winning an election should not mark the beginning of an endless cycle of scapegoating.

That was some tedious reading, but if I understand you correctly, you hold Obama blameless for blaming George W. Bush for all of his troubles, and you blame his critics for dividing the country. I respectfully disagree.

In my post I never commented on Obama's position or claimed that he did or didn't lay blame on Bush. He took the reins and handled the best that he could the economic shape that the country was in when he took the job of the presidency, and early on urged for people's patience in righting the ship that couldn't possibly be righted overnight.

 

I never got the impression that he spent 8 years harping in a game of blame on the mess that he was handed, and did just as you have stated, thrived under pressure and willingly accepted the challenges that he had before him.

 

My entire post was in reference solely about his critics that immediately laid blame on him, completely ignoring and not admitting to where the economic problems had arisen, and tried their best to make everyone forget by putting it completely all on the Democrats.

 

The rest of my post was an analysis regarding that and its destructive effect on rational dialogue across lines, and how it helped in the rooting of the divide that has been ever widening since.

I find this intriguing. I hope this is a "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" deal for Trump. How could he possibly trust Romney? What Romney said about Trump in that press conference was way over the top and stunning for one R to say about another. Romney is probably very qualified to be in the Cabinet but Trump is a better man than me if he does not throw him out the window from the 20th floor.

Not really. I found it needlessly verbose. Obama endlessly blamed Bush for his failure to deliver on his promise to oversee a strong recovery. I was no Bush fan, but I do not recall him making so many excuses during his two terms. Ronald Reagan inherited a bigger economic mess than Obama did, IMO, and he (along with JFK), was one of the most upbeat, optimistic, forward thinking presidents in modern history.

 

I follow political news closely, and Obama has been the biggest whiner to serve in the White House of my lifetime, although Nixon certainly did his share of whining too. I wish Democrats would find some more upbeat candidates to run for office and I wish the RNC would do the same. I would love to vote for a presidential candidate again. Voting against the worst of two candidates every four years is depressing.

Hillary Clinton essentially ran for a third Obama term and voters and lost. Millions of voters, included myself, agreed that eight years was more than enough. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but it is clear to me that Obama fatigue helped defeat Hillary's bid for another four years of whining and weak leadership. Of course, her criminal activity did not help her cause.
