I went to the game, my second of season after a several year hiatus. I tried to tell everyone that they would lose since I planned on showing up. Oh well though, I've seen more games like this one than I can count on my fingers and toes. I just take it with a smile and drink more bourbon. Excellent atmosphere tonight though, best game day experience I've seen in 10 years.

 

I think watching from home is a good place for you haha we don't need any more bad luck! I will agree with you that the atmosphere was fantastic!

As an outsider, is a bowl in 2016 "fools gold" for UK? I guess you take anything you can get after this long of a slump.

 

When you examine the schedule aren't they really having their typical 3-9 or 4-8 season except for some SEC schools being dramatically worse than they usually are? OR is the "dramatically worse" rest of the SEC the new normal? Also, their schedule was VERY favorable H v. A this year. The road games (@Florida, @Bama, @MO) are all results that very likely would have been the same H or A, so you might as well burn a road game on them. Not sure UK beats MS St. in Starkville or SC at Columbia which might be the difference in 4-8, 5-7 or 6-6.

 

 

S. Miss - disappointing loss

@Florida - they are down and UK was not remotely competitive

NM St. - win but closer than it should've been for much of the game

SC - win but they are bad and UK seems to have their #

@Bama - not competitive, but expected

Vandy - good win against a pesky but not great SEC team

MS St. - no clue; did they beat an awful team that lost to S. Alabama or the decent team that beat A&M yesterday (or is A&M not that great?)

@MO - only road win against an putrid team

GA - lost a winnable game @ home

If they stick with it a little more in the second half I think they win the game. They went away from what got them to that point.

We're having a "A bowl game is the step in the right direction" season. Nothing more. Nothing less. Every team can rationalize away their accomplishments. Heck, we can go through the same exercise for Alabama, Michigan, etc.

I blame this solely on Eddie Gran. Once you run the same play over and over the other team is going to figure out how to stop it especially down inside the red zone. Should have started throwing the ball on 1at down or at least 2ns down instead of running the wildcat up the middle playijg for the tie

Even with 15's limitations UK wins if Badet makes the catch.

 

This. Totally agree.

QB Johnson isn't good enough to overcome his WR's, Badet and G. Johnson letting him down. Too much of the wildcat down the stretch and way too conservative in the play calling. Gotta play to WIN!

As long as Johnson is under center there will be no pass game. Dude gets worse every game.
