Is Class 2-A Weak?

Featured Replies

With UKs history of football and for that matter U of L's until the last few years. I think UC, Illinois and Arkansas would be were I would place my faith as judges of talent.

That doesnt matter to me, Im just glad local kids are getting looks from bigtime schools. Its a great thing for our area regardless of who your root for.

Hey, someone should notify one of the Mods that someone has logged in as GIAT without his knowledge. This poster has posted something unbiased in support of the area in whole.

Dang this hurts.. But you are absolutely correct on that one.:thumb:

No matter which A you play in! Obviously all classes have a wealth of talent that runs across the state! We are fortunate as fans that all the Title games have superb matchups with tremendous players. For being said at least here in the Ashland area on a friday night we have a pletheria of great games to choose from from all Classes weekend and weekout!

:thumb: Nice post GIAT never let em see you sweat!!!!!:D GIAT really does like the area especially the Ashland school district area and we would all be lucky to hyave him as a loyal supporter of our school!:ylsuper:

2A is not supposed to be better than 3A or 4A, only 1A. And I think 2A is a bit better than 1A. Isn't that the way it's supposed to work? 4A better than 3A better than 2A better than 1A. So all this talk about 2A being weak is just hogwash, if the 1A and 2A schools had the # of kids that the 3A and 4A schools have to choose from, they would be just as good talent wise. I hope that isn't too many A's for some of you to comprehend. :D :D JK, G...

I've never maintained that A is better than 2A, but 2A is closer to A than 3A ... a good sign that it's weaker than it should be.

Just the fact that this topic comes up every year is an indictment of 2A's overall strength, whether it's true or simply a widely-held perception.

I will mention this again. Belfry a 2a powerhouse was a power house when they played 3a. Sheldon Clark a very competitve team year in year out in 2a had alot of success in 3a. They oboviously was not dominated by the "far superior" ,larger 3a schools. And this was not that long ago they played 3a.

They must have some very long memories then. Boyle hasn't played Harrodsburg since 2001 and hasn't played Mercer since 2000. That puts the seniors on this team in 7th grade from Harrodsburg and 8th grade from Mercer.

Harrodsburg played Boyle last year! talk about short memories.....lol

There is no LexCath, CovCath, Boyle County, or Highlands in 2A. There may be a Beechwood or a Danville but it would be a close call.

I've heard that sarcasm is the lowest form of humor.

Once you are no longer a threat to the Tomcats I'm all for kids doing well past high school! Atleast Im honest..... :thumb: Like Steven Blevins from Lawrence Co. who pitches for Cincy. He had a great freshman season and it wouldnt surprise me one bit to see him in the Big Leagues with Brandon Webb one day. Anytime anyone can get a college education for free that is something that should be applauded no matter where they are going to school or where they went to school.

Boyle beat Harrodsburg 42-6 last season. And Mercer as a football program can't hardly forget about the not so distant and dark history with Chuck Smith. I hope for a great game.
