Please, I don't want in the middle of this but I am curious - has Ryle ever played Trinity, Male or St. Xavier?

 

Not trying to start an argument but it doesn't matter its hard to compete with those teams and I think Ryle did just don't remember the year.

I thought it was Trinity but wasn't sure and that Ryle team was a really good team, not taking anything away from Highlands and their tradition but thought it was an unfair thread because no one can compete with those teams consistently. Sorry but its just reality.

If memory serves me correctly I don't think Highlands did that bad against saint x this year in scrimmage. Did they?

HHS scrimmaged St X from Ohio this year and that X got them pretty good. The St X these guys are talking about is the X from KY that put a running clock on our guys very early in the game.

I can give you one year Highlands likely would've beat Louisville St. X and Trinity. 2009. Here's my reasoning with scores.

 

Cincy X 43 Trinity 13

Cincy X 24 Louisville St X 7

Highlands 12 Cincy X 7 in a game that Highlands completely dominated and fumbled inside the 5 yard line 2 or 3 times. Cincy X didn't even cross midfield until less than 2min left in the game.

I agree Highlands teams in the past were very, very good but what I am saying is on a consistent basis, its nothing against them but those teams just dominate our state and Highlands would struggle most of the time against them if they played 6A.

I am not a Ryle guy but for you to say this is ridiculous. If Highlands played 6A like Ryle they would not have all those titles. Come on your a smart guy you know teams in NKY can't compete with the Trinity's, Males and X on a consistent basis.

 

And if NCC, Beechwood, Holy Cross, Bellevue and CovCath played in 6A they would not have as many titles either. Smart guy knows you play in the class based upon the size of your student body. That is the way it works in most states. The ifs and buts can be used on every school outside of Trinity and an occasional outlier.

Then don't knock Ryle on how many titles they have won or where they were at a certain time of the year while Highlands was still playing. If you want to act like the big dog then play the Big Dogs every year which is the Trinity, X and Male.

 

Highlands has great tradition and a great program no deny that.
