I think we as parent's and our boy's know that we do not have the best 11 out there. That's the sad truth. I heard about some adjustments as well but it didn't happen that I seen .

 

But here's the thing... as a parent, you don't know that those aren't the best 11 out there. You aren't at practice everyday evaluating players. You aren't watching hours of film deciding how to improve or what to do with players to make them better. Just because you've known some of these kids their whole life and have watched them through pee wee doesn't mean you're fit to evaluate a football program.

 

Highlands was outmatched. You don't lose by 20+ and say a few changes or adjustments would have fixed it. Covcath is a very good football team, and they put it to Highlands. Eddie is a great football coach and he's getting CovCath where they should be as a program. Schools are going to have up and down years, it's okay it's part of the game.

Million dollar question

You really shouldn't be speaking of the defense as a whole. My son plays on the D line and he plays with his whole heart. Hurt or not he gives his all. It's not fair to all these kid's to listen to such comments. Changes need to be made but I'm very proud of my son #52 who I know gives his all.

 

I stand by what I said 100%. I called no one out by name and I did not say that some of my 11 would not be guys already on the field. Playing defense is more about heart, desire and "want to" and I do not see that from all 11 guys playing on the defensive side of the ball.

Why don't you ask some of the players why he isn't playing? I think it won't take long for you to find your answer. I wish nothing but the best for the young man, but he has a lot of growing up to do.

I think this is unfair. The effort is there. They were overmatched. Highlands needs some size up front on defense or any team with size is going to do what CCH did - run it down their throat. CCH is an average or little above average running team. They throw it more than they run it. Last night they threw 8 passes, because they didn't need to throw it.

 

And why exactly is it unfair? I will say this, they do not have their BEST 11 players on DEFENSE. Is that clear enough? I noticed numerous kids for CCH playing both ways. That is how you improve your defense.

 

If your best eleven defenders are playing defense and are playing up to the best of their ability what adjustments or personnel change would be of benefit or be better? We have been hearing change, change , change for two years now. It's like one or two changes will make the difference and you'll start winning all of a sudden. You are getting beat soundly. Maybe the teams you are losing to are just better physically right now. No change in the world is getting you more wins this year. You are getting beat, not losing by your own accord. There is a difference. All the couch Qbing is funny though. Do you guys want some cheese with that whine? It's just my opinion but it's kind of demeaning to the teams you lose to that you think it's not that they are better but that you just aren't making the right adjustments.

 

Is this a Ryle thread? What makes you think that you know anything about Highlands football? Let me know when Ryle wins something and then we will talk. Change happened last year and they went to state semi's. Where was Ryle that week? Oh yeah, at home getting ready for the next season.

I totally agree with you. I'm not on here talking bad about the coaches or the kid's but at the same time I do see changes do need to be made. Where I couldn't tell you, how I couldn't tell you that either. Something somewhere needs to give

You are absolutely correct. I see my son come off that field every single week with something hurt something bleeding and I to think that anyone would have the nwe've to say he doesn't give his all blows my mind
