I've studied the subject a bit here and there and have come to embrace what is called IDH (Interdimensional Hypothesis). Long story short, IDH puts forth the idea that we're dealing with a spiritual system, or visitations from other realities/dimensions; not extraterrestrial visitations. Jacques Vallee is probably the most well-known of IDH proponents.

 

As to the arrogance of what I believe, you are entitled to believe what you want. But I would counter that it is even more arrogant to see the intricacy of this world and the humans that inhabit it...and then passing that off as some sort of cosmic accident, as opposed to an intelligent design.

Here's where I stop already. How in the world can ANYONE have a clue how old the universe is? They have no clue and there is no way they have enough evidence to even project. 1 billion years is unfathomable to us. Do you know how much can change in a billion years?? So how in the world could they tell us how old the universe is with anything other than a complete guess.

 

Age of the Earth...maybe because we can study it first hand.

 

This is more a tbg question but to answer you because the speed of light is constant and we can take very accurate measurements that give us a great idea on the age of the Universe.

You know everyone (specifically you crybabies), every Friday night there is between 200 and 300 new threads in the football forum. About four weeks ago we had a fun thread, the Belfry vs. Trinity thread, and since then I have been starting Friday Night Funny threads (and this week a Friday Night Fright Thread). Normally I close or move those threads but this week I am out of town on vacation and not as quick on the draw and the Crybaby Brigade decided to make a Federal Case out of it.

 

More generally speaking, I have heard from many people that BGP is a little boring these days - and I agree - so these threads are for entertainment purposes and if anyone else wants to cry about them being in the wrong forum I am going to suspend you too.
