Any standout players on their squad? Need to know who to look for. I know the usual suspects for the Birds.....

Most play for the Raiders or the Spartans....Maybe a few Erlanger Lions...

I don't have specifics but my guess is a few of the players might also have spent some time during the last few years playing for Turkeyfoot middle school too. Turkeyfoot had a good team last year that played for the middle school championship (I don't recall if they won it).

Turkeyfoot won the championship game last year. I'm sure alot of the players on the Dixie 9th grade team were members of that team. They were loaded with talent.:jump:

Yes, Kicker Jordan Hatfield made a 32yd FG with a little under a minute left for the game.

There was that play and the first one Campbell scored on where they said there were ineligible players downfield for Campbell, there were and they picked up and the flag. The fourth down play/penalty had all of us confused.If the penalty was declined, it would have been a touchdown. If they took the penalty, then it should have been Conner ball. Conner also should have had a touchdown earlier, the ball broke the plane on the endzone before the back went down and yet they spotted the ball on the 6 inch line and gave the ball to Campbell.

 

Like I said earlier, Campbell's kids played hard and got the win. But the officiating at all levels has been terrible this year.

 

The Penalty must have been accepted. Offensive interference includes a loss of down and since the play was a 4th down it becomes the Camels ball. The announcer was probably confused as well.

I do stand corrected on this call. You are right and I found out the same thing tonight. This penalty has changed over the years and I did not know that. Thanks for clearing this up.

Conner vs Holmes Thursday at Conner 6pm.

Campbell Co. won with a split squad. Half the team went to Grant Co. to play. Great defensive game for the Camels.

 

Speaking of officiating, one play I didn't understand was toward the very end of the game. Conner had the ball with 4th down, threw a pass that was caught and run in for a touchdown. However, offensive pass interference was called. They marched it off, it seemed from the original line of scrimmage, but then gave the ball to CC. The announcer said the penalty was declined but that would have resulted in a touchdown. Not sure what happened there.

 

On 4th Down, the Offense committed pass interference which resulted in loss of down. Ball turned over to the Camels.

I'm sure this is for a different thread, but has anybody been tracking jv standings?
