Russell vs Ashland moved to Saturday night

Featured Replies

How is it that as you say, "They" did this. Doesn't both schools have to agree on the decision to play or move the game to another date, also does the KHSAA have to ok it ?

I think you're right (as usual) - otherwise it would be a forfeit.

Mayve if they were true fans they would change their plans. :D

But they may also pick up several fans from surrounding schools that would like the opportunity to see the game when otherwise they would not be able to due to watching their team play. It may mean even more fans because that's the only game in town.

Ummm...if you have out of town plans or a family reunion, it's not like you can just change your plans. I don't, I'm just saying there may be very many who do.

With the holiday weekend, I'd say there are MANY fans that have other plans for their Saturday night that didn't involve high school football. Many going out of town or having family get togethers and what not. I don't see these folks changing things up for a football game. Might be a smaller crowd tomorrow night than if they had just proceeded as planned.

Good point. If they are worried about the gate, then the wrong decision was made. I can't believe this game is being postponed, it has rained a lot but nothing too extreme. I feel for the players in this situation, especially if they didn't find out until this morning.

Maybe the infamous "mud cleats" won't be delivered until tomorrow!!!:D;) :sssh:

Oh I am sure that the Mud cleats are delivered before there is ever a first practice..

That's it. Show me the money!!

My family would have to understand. :D

My goodness what's the big deal about the game being moved to tomorrow?

Maybe because the game has been looked forward to for the past week and most people do not see a real need to wait another day to play. I haven't seen any other games being postponed for it, why this one??? Also, keep in mind that with the holiday weekend, it may throw a serious wrench into the plans of some families and keep some from attending at all.

Except for all the college games...Miami-Florida St, USC-Arkansas, WVU-Marshall, etc.

But a dryer field, makes for a safer field, and that's what's most important. Isn't that right goherd?

Yeah, and the fact that your family eats like it's a family reunion all the time. :D :D

Bah college games. We're talking real football that the locals can drive to and get into for a reasonable price. Plus this game is going to be better than any old college game anyway.:D

Allegedly, but in my years of experience, I haven't seen ANY injuries where a wet field was the causitive factor.

Most people that are complaining about the move seem to be from Russell. I have thought about this and I have figured it out. They are worried that moving the game to Saturday will give Boyd County a chance to scout them in person.

I've heard thru the grapevine that Kasey Clark was supposed to have made an official visit to the University of Cincinnati tomorrow. I'm sure that it won't be a problem having it rescheduled, but if he still wants to go I'm sure it won't be a problem finding a Tomcat fan to drive him to Cincinnati tomorrow evening. :D :D :D
