So, is South Carolina going to be the hardest hit?

That was when the models were showing Matthew not making landfall until it reached South Carolina. Now it looks like Matthew will be a cat 4 storm when it hits Florida. It should be still a hurricane by the time it reaches South Carolina. But make no mistake South Carolina will get hit hard.

 

Also please don't forget we'll have to watch out also for tornadoes. Hurricanes have been known to produce some inland.

Let me add parts of South Carolina near the coast could see 10-15" of rain. Then add the storm surge so you can see South Carolina will get hit hard.

Dad is going to Panama City now, not Daytona.

First reports put of Haiti are saying at least 65 have died as a result of the storm...Prayers for all that have or will endure this storm.

That's where my son and his family is on vacation.

Had to post this update. Matthew is now a category 4 hurricane with sustained winds between 140-160 mph.

We are leaving for Gulf Shores (Ft. Morgan actually) in the morning. Hopefully no affects will be seen that far west.
