October 4, 20169 yr Author (CNN)Hurricane Matthew pounded western Haiti Tuesday morning, packing powerful winds and heavy rain as it crossed the country. "The river has overflowed all around us," church pastor Louis St. Germain said. "It's terrible... a total disaster." St. Germain, who spoke to CNN on the phone from Les Cayes, Haiti, said the storm sheared off a wall of his house and tore roofs off many buildings in the area. The "extremely dangerous" storm has already killed at least three people, caused cruise ships to change course and prompted officials to declare states of emergency. October 4, 20169 yr Yeah TAC you need to go ahead and cancel that trip. We met at lunch. We are waiting until tomorrow AM to make the call. Flights in/out look to be OK and we think we can play golf on Thurs, Sunday and Monday. Only fear if they evacuate the town it would be a nightmare.

October 4, 20169 yr Gov of SC has said they are currently planning an evacuation at 3:00 PM tomorrow. Road reversals for most highways. Could pull the plan after further review but encouraging folks to leave ASAP. Been 15 years since last big one and they have an extra million folks on the coast.

Nikki Haley says she plans to issue an evacuation order Wednesday ahead of Hurricane Matthew so that 1 million people can safely and comfortably leave the coast. Haley said at a Tuesday news conference that she will finalize the order Wednesday morning, unless there is a major shift in the storm's track. I'm wanting to sea if the other models show this also. My cousin lives right on the intercoastal in WPB. They was busy boarding stuff up and getting ready. Hopefully it doens't get to bad.

I'm wanting to sea if the other models show this also. Orlando it about 40 miles due west of the east coast, or Titusville. If the eye makes landfall at Titusville, Daytona, New Smyrna, and St. Augustine will take the brunt of the tidal surge. Coming in from the east, the north side of the cyclone is the most dangerous, because of the counterclockwise movement. The tide will be pulled away from the coast south of the eye and thrown into the coast north of it. Also, if Matthew comes ashore at Titusville, hurricane force winds will extend at least 40 miles inward. Just coming up the coast will reek havoc 40 miles in.
