October 10, 20169 yr Fire Marvin and make him head coach... Kinda thought that was where this was going. No freakin way with the success they were having would that ever have happened with any franchise on a winning path would they say bye to the HC for a coordinator. You can lament coaches leaving, but it happens to every team with success. I'm not arguing that it didn't matter, but he wasn't gonna supplant Marvin.

October 10, 20169 yr I think the success of the Andy Dalton era has had way more to do with the great coaching of Zimmer, Gruden, and Hue than it has Marvin. Marvin is the monarchy in the UK. He's just a figurehead where Parliament (the coordinators) sat back and did all the work and Mike Zimmer was the Prime minister.

He has done a great job of getting Zimmer, Gruden, and Hue. I'll give him that. But those guys didn't need Marvin or the Bengals, but Marvin and the Bengals needed him.

But yet it took Zimmer getting there for the defense to become a top 5 defense in the league.
October 10, 20169 yr Zampese is four games in, way too early to gauge. Guenther , however, needs to produce by year's end or he could be on hot seat. Although I think they'd move Haslett into the job, he might be better. Probably a toss up.
