You are right. they have given him a chance to play and he didn't win the job. He didn't win the back up job either. If he wants to play he should play in the line. Be a team player sorry not even a team player just be a player and get on the field.

Most kids are asking where can I play to get on The field. If I was the coach I would find another punter because he isn't that good there either.

I would have grabbed the dad, and politely escorted him back to his seat. This is disturbing.

I agree the kid should be a team player.

My kid played QB from the time he was 8 until his Sophomore year. I thought he would be the next Joe Montana. He came to me and said that he wanted to move to defense going into his Sophomore year. I sucked it up and told him that he should do whatever his heart told him. (I'm not gonna lie. I was disappointed and a lot stunned). He ended up finishing up his high school career as a linebacker and played every down of every game he played from Sophomore year through Senior year. He told me a year or two ago that that was the happiest he had ever been playing ball. DOING WHAT HE WANTED TO DO!!! When switched it was like a huge weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. My point is that maybe, just maybe, this jerk needs to let his kid decide what he wants to do and daddy needs to keep his mouth shut. Mr. Marinovich is apparently alive and well at FTH minus the weight lifting and vegetarian diet.

That brings up another great question was there an administration person from HHS at the game. See there is the bigger problem then jerk dad. Someone like our AD or someone from the school should had been there to stop it. There is a time and place for everything and during a game is not it. Angry upset parents should not be Anywhere around coaches during or after the game for that matter. You dont like what's going on schedule a meeting. Call the AD call the Pope but don't do it on the field. All you are teaching your kid is its ok to cry and pout.

Can someone who was at the game tell us if the AD or anyone from the administration of the school was at the game. I know that at a couple of freshman games so far this year there has been no administration personal at the games nothing good can happen.

If I am the school dad is getting a letter informing him that he has been banded from all further khsaa sporting events for the remainder of the year.

You have a very similar story to mine. My boy played QB all thru 8th grade and his final year was the leading qb in BCPWFL Where he led the senior division with 16 TD's and only 2 int's. Next closest in the league had 9 TD's. So he goes to High School and was going to be behind a 3 yr starter on varsity but due to his size (6' 3") and his speed the coach moved him to WR where he never played before. As a dad I was a little bummed but he was starting as a sophomore instead of having to wait until his senior yr to play qb. It was a move that paid off great as he became a pretty good WR as he was the state leader in receptions his senior year through 9 games of the regular season (this was N Fants senior season also). My son is now playing in college (junior this year) and has started since his very first game as a College Freshman and on his very first reception as a college player turned it into a TD. He has played in every game so far except for 1 he was injured last year and will miss only his 2nd game next week (got injured tonight) So I would hope this kids dad would stop pressuring his kid and the coach and just let the kid play wherever he is needed. Before he knows it, his football days will be over and he will

be left wondering why he just didn't shut his mouth and play where the coach needed him to play.

If not for my sons coach moving him to a position he never played before instead of qb, my sons playing days may have been over already. Sometimes coaches

may know a little more than dad's know about where there boys can play...just sayin.

Its my understanding the father was yelling at Coach W late in the game to put his son in and one of the Birds DL was getting water and heard the nonsense. At that point he yelled into the stands at the father which IMO is also wrong. This is when DL's father apparently introduced himself to the whining father in an unfriendly manner. The entire series of events is disheartening to say the least and reflects very poorly on the entire Highlands program. This team is going to either fight back on the field or completely crumble in the locker room and off the field.

Parents need to stay out of the situation especially during a game. I always respected former hoops coach Mike Flynn who told all of the parents he refused to discuss PT with us but had an open door about anything else as far as injuries, helping the program, etc. He said if your son has a PT problem he needs to be man enough to come in his office and discuss.

Is Highlands sideline still on the opposite side of the stands? Was the dad still in the stands and the lineman on the sideline? It must have been pretty quiet for everyone to hear each other.

The game took place at St. X and I have been told that the visitor's bench is in front of the visitor's stands.

Ohh, makes sense. Thx

This is a little more in line with how I thought these threads would go. Unfortunately...

Silly me I got on here to read about the game. :isurrender:

Classy.

From what I heard about the game this may be a better read the ways it's going. If you think this is good check out the SK/Highlands prediction thread
