Beatty has raised the bar at Trinity, no doubt. But Trinity was successful before Beatty, and they will be successful after Beatty. Having said that, I don't see Beatty going anywhere any time soon.

Similar to the success that UK Basketball has after Calapari, Duke has after Coach K, Belfry has after Haywood, and Alabama has after Saban.

 

Programs of these caliber are going to be very good regardless. Will he compete for titles every year like now? Maybe maybe not but they will be in the thick of things more often than not.

Beatty will stay at least through this freshman class.

If he does I have to believe it is from the summer camps he runs during summer break. When you reach his success, those camps become extremely popular and tons of kids sign up for them.

There were a number of factors that contributed to the lack of a state title from 1995-2000. The school did not have nearly the same support from the 30% smaller Alumni base. The overall enrollment was down or flat during these years. The talent level was not where it needed to be for maximum success. Coach Servino was a great coach and teacher of young men. The talent at the QB position was shaky at best and yet the Rocks were in the final four in '97 and '98, and lost to eventual champ Nelson County in '96 in quarterfinals. Kevin Wright went 11-2 in '99. Coach Beatty lost to Male in the state final in 2000.

 

Beatty doesn't fish! To my knowledge, he does not hunt. As Coach has stated publicly, when he wakes up and does not enjoy what he is doing, then he will get out and not return to the field. I am betting on ten more seasons.

Coach Servino was a great coach and teacher of young men.

But he is more than a good coach; he's a master at making sure those kids are motivated. Saw the stat that his teams are 81-2 against JCPS schools not named Male. And you know the crazy thing about that is the two losses came with Brian Brohm as the QB in his senior season. Point is he is so unreal at getting his kids focused for the games they should win and in the close games he makes really good adjustments at half time.

I think it was the Manual game (but could've been Seneca).......in any event, Trinity's opponent executed 2 perfect onside kicks to help get the win.

That's very impressive.

 

Of all his wins, there are two wins that standout to me as the most impressive, from an X perspective...

 

2005 - state championship game and

2007 - state championship.

 

2005 was probably the most impressive performance I've seen from a team that got beat by 40 points in the regular season. Whatever he did to grab the attention of the players and coaches the following weeks after the loss in September is remarkable to me.
