Brand new field house and weight room does nothing but make kids feel like they already earned something that they havent. Every player on that team needs to be COACHED and have the determination of the players that played in the old dirty beat up locker room and weight room. These kids are living on their high horse with these facilities but these facilities do not guarantee wins.

Kid thinks he's a QB still but won't see the field at that position, likely, ever again. You can't make him be a team player.

Size has nothing to do with HHS losing games. I played on teams at HHS with very small offensive and defensive lineman and we were incredibly successful. It's all about attitude. We lined up every play knowing that no matter who was across from us we were going to smack you in the mouth, tell you about it, line up again and do the same damn thing until you quit and ran away. Nothing has changed with size... Everyone we played was bigger and sometimes stronger than us. It sounds cliche, but the swagger is what is missing. Until HHS has the mentality that when they're on the field and look across and they KNOW they're going to physically, mentally, and emotionally dominate their opponent until they quit and then step on their throat then we will continue to see this.

So I'd like to hear some of the names on your teams. There's been many different styles of teams that have played at HHS. Some won because they outscored teams and the defense was not very good at all. Some won because of a phenomenal talent. Some won because of phenomenal depth. Some won because of size. Some won because of speed. And some won from a combination or all those things. That's when they dominated. Now tell me which one of those things this team has that compares to what the past championship teams had.

 

You can have all the desire and passion and heart you want, but my guess is the teams you played on had a little more than just heart and passion and a desire to smack someone in the face and tell them about it.

 

My guess is this group of players would love to do the same thing.

I do not completely disagree, but for anyone to say this team does not have talent or the players to at least compete in a game against a NKY team or beat a Campbell county team is looking for an excuse. I understand there was some injuries for tonight's game, but there is definitely some sort of other issues in the program.... Why fix something is not broken?

I know what team you are talking about I wouldn't call it undersized. Peko rosey reis labor on DL isn't undersized LB core was very good size.

The "mental" side of any sport, especially football, is paramount to the success of any team. If you can get into the head of your opponent, you create doubt in that opponent, and you've won half the battle.

 

Hell, back in the day in softball, I used to tell @RCC9, "get ready, this one is coming your way".....you should have seen the fear in his eyes. :lol:
