ColonelCrazy
Good effort guys! It's always disappointing to lose, and at CCH, we expect to win; however, learning from games like this (especially this early in the season) is much more important than a W. I'd imagine Elder would be one of the top teams in KY again this year. Let's learn from this and continue to work hard and improve. Any stats? Sportz Addict
As I said in the update thread... gotta play 4 quarters with the Cincy boys. Too many T.O.'s for CCH. Too bad this Elder team is not as strong as the past Elder teams. Might have been best shot for a winner.
cshs81
You only get so many chances to beat Elder. CCH had them today and did not take advantage of them. If you're a CCH fan and you take this game and extrapolate out to the games they need to win in KY (read: HHS), you feel OK - not great - but OK. The size of Elder's D line hurt and I'm sure CCH won't see that line in NKY(from a size and strength perspective). The killer was the fumble at the 5 when CCH was about to go up 10-0 in the 3rd. Live and learn.
cshs81
BTW, Elder dominated on the o-line from guard-to-guard. That was a bit of a surprise.
colonel-fan
Good game for CovCath to build on. Turnovers hurt, some untimely penalties (the holding in the 2nd quarter when we had a long completion on third down for a first down) hurt, and a miscue in the backfield also hurt. Still CovCath went toe to toe with a top 10 Ohio D1 team. Even ran at them somewhat effectively. CovCath got a lot more out of this game then the Boone game. I like the effort from the Colonels. katbird
I went to the game and thought CovCath should of won...They just self destructed way to much. Elder is big and strong but not really that fast. I think the birds will have to much speed for the panthers.. If HHS can establish the pass they will prevail....:ylsuper: :ylsuper:
stickymitts
CCH had them today and did not take advantage of them. Two fumbles in the red zone are tough to overcome. 22 for Elder hits for such a little guy. He forced two fumbles and had the pick at the end. He was fun to watch. 9 (Rudolph) is HUGE!!! Fortunately they could only get him the ball a couple of times. CCH running back runs hard. Could've won the game...maybe even should've. On a side note. I've been to many, many CCH games and their student section has caused zero problems. Leave it to the West Siders to make them look bad. CCH students minding their own business and Elder kids who had no business being on that side of the field came over to cause trouble. I hope HHS beats them...:fight:

The Ohio referee three times warned the Elder Band to stop but never did give them a penalty. Ft. Thomas fans, charge the Purples $100.00 to park in your yards, and when Elder has the ball have your band just play as loud as they can. Note, not music just use your band instruments to make noise. It clearly is against the rules, but since the Ohio Refs only give warnings why would the Ky refs do anything different. Understand I have no problem with the students yelling, screaming, whatever, but when the band uses there instruments to do it, will that is a bit much.... Very poor sportsmanship shown by Elder today, and I really think todays act by the Elder band director, and some students really make Elder look very, very bad.....and now I undersand why the enrollment at Elder is way down from it was just a couple of years ago... Theoldguy
Was there some kind of altercation? Yes, and the Cincinnati/Hamilton County/UC police put a stop to it quickly. The Elders students clearly looking for a fight came from the other side of Nippert stadium, down to the area near the field to give the CovCath students a bad time. All the CovCath students did from what I could see from my seat, was to call for the police to get the Elder students out from amongst them. Proud of how the CovCath kids acted when clearly provoke by the Purples....

The Birds will take care of business on the field, and send the panthers back to Price Hill with their tails between their legs:fight:

One time leading to CCH staff having to make them leave and than the second time a young elder fan (probably dose not go to school at elder looked about 12) and a CCH student being thrown out of the game by the cops. The sad part was that the student from CCH who got thrown out was the school president who was on the field cheering. Make sense? No, not at all.
